La Scaleta Restaurant Pizzeria — Restaurant in Châteauroux

We telephoned ahead because we were not sure of the last service. On arriving (there was 4 of us) we were seated right away given a menu and asked if we wanted a drink (of course), orders were taken, I chose a cold meat starter followed by veal and tagliatelle, dessert tiramisu (home made). While ordering the waiter was not pushing us to order, he was helping and then advised on the wine,taking time to check during the meal if we were alright. I found the price was not expensive. We went mid week so it was reasonably quiet, if it was the weekend or in the summer ( there is seating outside), I would book in advance. I used the washroom there and it was spotless (for me) no problem...

Everything was top! We were 14 people & were all very happy with the pizza choices!

I had vegan pizza & absolutely loved the vegan cheese & all the vegetables on my pizza. I recommend it as one of the best choices there! It also had vegan bacon - I tried it for the first time & was not disappointed!

Our waiter was super kind, spoke great English & cracked jokes. He also answered any questions we had. And helped us with our choices when needed.

The atmosphere is amazing - you enter & feel as if you're in Italy. It's kind of like a thematic restaurant - really cool!

Nicely decorated and unusual. very clean, the menu was easy to work out what I wanted (as I'm English) the food and wine was really nice. Staff were polite and helpful. went on a Friday night, early evening it was quiet to start but very busy later even turning people away, may need to book if you go in later. Little bit of a wait at the end to order a drink or pay seemed a little...
