Bar Le Bourbon — Restaurant in Châtellerault

I liked it here at first, but for some reason, the bartender didn’t seem to want to serve us a second beer. I went to him and asked twice, but he was sitting talking with a group of young men and appeared disinterested. (We were sober, so it wasn’t because we were drunk or anything like that!). Eventually, we got fed up waiting, and just went and stood at the bar until he came over then we paid and went elsewhere. Strange way...

Ayant lu les excellents commentaires sur ce bar j’ai souhaité aller y boire un verre avec un collègue dont c’était l’anniversaire. J’avais même lu que pour un anniversaire le patron pouvait réaliser des cocktails. Côté accueil, indifférence totale, ambiance on gênerait presque, plusieurs longues minutes avant qu’on nous adresse une parole alors qu’il est 19h15 et que le lieu est désert… Par malheur on demande un cocktail, on se fait rembarrer mode « on fait pas de cocktail et on allait fermer.. ». On demande si il est possible de boire un Spritz, la réponse qui nous est donnée est «  c’est quoi ça ? Je ne parle pas le martien.. ». Ok le niveau est bien établi. On se contentera donc de deux bières vite avalées pour rapidement aller chercher un endroit plus sympathique. My wife and I had a few drinks here. The barman was super friendly and made us feel welcome. We are Australian and sadly don't speak French but the barman was so accommodating the language barrier seemed to fall away. We highly recommend this bar and look forward to visiting again soon....
