This is a basic hotel which we knew in advance. The young girl at reception was welcoming and spoke good English. The car park was adequate. The room was very small with a desk and a bed. The bed was not very comfortable and there was only one bedside table. The bathroom was very small and there were only 2 bath towels and no hand towels for hair washing. There was only one small waste bin in the whole room. ||Breakfast was an extra €9.90 per person and had a fair choice but not brilliant. ||We had dinner there but the menu was difficult to understand. I ordered a starter and then lasagne. However they both arrived together but the starter was completely wrong. The waiter did not understand and was quite rude. He did replace the starter and it still wasn’t the same as pictured on the menu and I had to eat it after my main course. I would have liked a small dessert such as crepe brûlée or chocolate mousse but it wasn’t allowed. We found a warm, clean and welcoming bed at this Campanile. ||We also struck lucky with Thomas - who went out of his way to help us find a room to stay in locally - for the duration of our weeks stay - despite the town being booked solid for the puppet festival. A BIG THANKYOU Thomas :-)||We had been very (very) badly let down by le Hotel Dormeus du Val in Charleville-Mezieres for the 2013 International Puppet Festival week, Having driven from the UK overnight to arrive at 04.45 on a Sunday morning, we found our room for the week at Hotel Dormeus had been cancelled & sold to somebody else (& the hotel rudely refusing to discuss the matter with us).
