I typed in " Fried noodles" on Google and came up with Chez Wu in Clermont-Ferrand. This is how we ended up eating in this restaurant and henceforth have adopted this tradition now. The lady who attended to us was polite and always smiling. To make it simple, here's my review:
Staff: Kind, welcoming, and humane. We overtly spoke in Chinese and she was awesome.
Food: Authentic Chow Mein from China with the right amount of veggies, meat, and noodles. I asked for extra prawns in my chicken fried noodles. So, I got my Special Chow Mein. Hot and made plate by plate, it was a royal service. I also asked for chilli and was served the special chef chilli sauce which obviously enhanced the overall taste.
Price: very much affordable for the quantity
Atmosphere: Guess what was extremely odd? Well, there was a match on tv with France winning, and I was the only one making sounds. The restaurant was peaceful and calm without a noise. I have been to many Asian restaurants where sometimes you have to shout to speak and this place was bordeline too quiet 😂. But, silence can be such a blessing.
Accessibility: There are a number of available places in the street but again they are not free. 50 cents/30mins. You can download the app named " Presto Park" if you don't have cash on you. It is easier to manage your parking time because the machines on the street accepts only cash.
Overall, you MUST make a stop at Chez Wu if you pass Clermont-Ferrand should you want a plate of noodles to motivate you on your road trip or a plate of comfort food but also for the kindness and...
Read moreIt was my first experience of trying Chinese food and this place made me love it. Very authentic place, where the Chinese family cooks for you, using old recipes. We visited with a big international group of 13 people, having a reservation we came to a fully prepared for serving us place. They can serve you in three different languages — Chinese, French and English (and talked to all of us in different languages). The chicken noodles is a perfect dish for getting acquainted with Chinese cuisine. The portions are so big, you don’t need more than one dish. My Chinese friend said that the food tasted as good as at home, which I think is the biggest compliment. If you are a fan of Chinese cuisine this place is a must-visit, and if you are not, then maybe you tried in a bad place and still should give a chance to this one. Place is so clean and filled with kindness and good mood. Thanks...
Read moreI ordered fried noodles. The wok hey fragrance is authentic, unlike many Vietnamese Chinese restaurants in France. The soy sauce fragrance of the noodles and chicken was also authentically Chinese. The portion of chicken and cabbage was generous. Then I spoke with the chef who comes from guangzhou and speaks Cantonese. He offered me his home made chilli when I commented I could not find chilli for the last 2 weeks while i was in France. The spice crowns the meal! I ate pass the restaurant time and he kindly accommodated me. Service beyond measure and hard to...
