In three weeks of dining in England and Western Europe, the ONLY place we had to make reservations turned out to be the WORST place to eat. We had reservations for 4 adults at 8PM. Overpriced food, overworked staff, overcrowded and underwhelming dining experience. I dropped my wife off and SIL at the front entrance and went to find a parking space. Parking is TERRIBLE, as are MOST places in Europe, but that is not the fault of the restaurant. If you want bad service (we waited an hour and a half for our food), mediocre and overpriced food, and crowded conditions go there. My brother and I parked the car and went in to join our wives who had ordered a bottle of water by this time. After fifteen minutes without ANYONE approaching our table, we got up to leave and I went to the pay for the water. We were stopped by some lady (I think she was the owner/GM, etc.). I told her I wanted to pay for the water, but she insisted we sit back down. I politely said we wanted to leave, but she persisted and my wife nudged me to go back to our table. We ordered our meals (which mine was incorrect, but I ate as it was without complaint) and we finally start to eat at 9:35PM. More to this story, but I have given you enough of a fair warning to...
Read moreI recently celebrated my birthday at Restaurant à l'Agneau Blanc, and it was the best dining experience l've ever had, even surpassing a Michelin-starred restaurant in Colmar. From the warm hospitality of the owner, Elisabeth, to the exquisite food, everything was outstanding. We started with a refreshing sorbet and Crémant d'Alsace, followed by a divine king prawn starter, 'Salade de Gambas Grillées à la Vinaigrette de Truffe.' The highlight was the perfectly tender and flavourful lamb, 'Côtes d'Agneau Grillées aux Herbes' served with a vegetable skewer and gratin. Dessert was the perfect finale - a 'Parfait Glacé aux Raisins Marinés au Marc de Gewurztraminer. As if the meal wasn't already a dream, Elisabeth and the other restauranteurs surprised me by singing to commemorate my birthday - a touch that made the evening unforgettable. In every way, Restaurant à l'Agneau Blanc is a Michelin-worthy destination. The combination of outstanding cuisine, thoughtful service, and an intimate dining experience sets it apart from the crowd. If this gem hasn't made it onto the Michelin Guide yet, it certainly...
Read moreDelicious place to have lunch after doing some local wine tatstings.
Restaurant was clean and dressed up nicely. Linens and stemware on the table. Staff accomodated our English needs, although there are no English menus available.
Food was well presented and delicious. Flatware and plateware showed that someone definitely put some thought into restaurant also.
Escargot with creamy Cognac sauce was amazing.
They did not have a wine list available so needed to have some communication with server to really get a bottle we wanted.
Defintely wasn't cheap for lunch in small German village (80€ for two). But value was there.
Overall a pretty good experience, but defintely not a casual...
