Chez Dan is one of the best known bar-restaurant in Contis, famous for its music and good ambiance.

Probably because it is permanently packed, client service is extremely poor and it takes ages to have anything. As an example last night: once seated (reservation was made), it took us 40 minutes to have the table set and be provided with the menu you can’t choose how you want your hamburger cooked the onglet looks like it was run under a truck Galettes are served without any salad or else. Because it is a rather small portion, 2 of us (out of 10) wanted to order something else but because of the time it took, decided to go back home to eat when time finally came to order desserts after exactly two ours, we were told that it was not possible to have an expresso at the same time. Excuse was that a fondant takes 20 minutes to cook which is not a reason for not being able to have a coffee serve at the same time. When we said we did not understand why the waitress said aggressively that we would be better off not to take any dessert at all (5 were ordered) and left the owner who came for a chat at our request did not want to admit anything was wrong nor that there could have been some misunderstanding. Instead, she judged the fact that 3 of us (in their early 20’s) were on their phones.

Short version of this story: if you want to wait for ages for an average quality food served by a team who never seem able to crack a smile, this is definitely the place to go.

Par où commencer, peut être par ce qu'il y a de positif à retenir, en somme pas grand chose. Les plats d'une qualité tout de même correct, il ne faut pas nier, c'était assez bon dans l'ensemble. Maintenant description du repas : arrivée en début de service, des clients à notre gauche sont déjà en train de se plaindre du décalage entre les plats, bizarre "ils n'ont pas l'air d'avoir de chance" nous disâmes. Cocktails discutable mais encore, jusqu'ici c'est acceptable. Entrée commandée en même temps que mon collègue, les 2 servies à 45 minutes d'intervalle, littéralement. Ensuite la viande commandée à point arrive bleue accompagnée d'un lillet rouge avec citron et glace qui avait un léger goût de sangria (cette confusion fut la goutte d'eau concernant la tolérance de la médiocrité du service en tout point). Facilitateur dans l'âme, excepté mon entrée abusément retardée je ne me plains pas (contrairement à nos voisins qui partent avant l'arrivée de leurs desserts). Je comprends, je connais le milieu, c'est la fin de saison, la fin des vacances, on en a marre de son taff mais à ce moment là il faut arrêter de bosser ! On ne travail pas comme ça ! Les serveuses complètement détestable, même pas un faux sourire, désagréable dès le début du service alors que nous avons tout tenté pour détendre l'atmosphère. À un moment donné il faut rester chez soi et laisser les gens apprécier leurs moments sans les gâcher par vos têtes d'enterrement. Je n'ai jamais vu une telle médiocrité dans un service (je passe les détails je pense que l'essentiel a été dit). Au prix de l'ardoise de fin de repas, je pense que "Chez Dan" rentre dans le top des pires restos (de fin de saison peut être je ne généralise pas la performance de l'équipe sur la saison) en tout cas ce soir, dans lequel j'ai mis les pieds. AVOID!!! WORST PLACE IN CONTIS! ZERO STARS Tables, menus, tablewear FILTHY. Owner is EXTREMELY RUDE with ZERO SENSE of a proper dining experience. Look in the kitchen, food FROZEN and PACKAGED, dirty pans etc. everywhere. They over-expanded the space illegally taking-over BOTH sidewalk AND bike lane and kitchen can't handle it. MANY COMPLAINING customers and STAFF CONTEMPTUOUS always just talking amongst themselves, ignoring customers.
