The setting by the water is lovely and the staff were very nice people. We booked a table in advance based on Google reviews being really good. Easy free parking next to the restaurant. I can't speak French and the waiter struggled with English but we got by as they do have English menus. The menu seemed quite different. Various Asian fusion type dishes etc. I wasn't feeling adventurous so most unlike me I chose a safe option. A bacon cheese burger with chips as thought I knew what I would get. My wife chose a sea bass with risotto. I have to say that it was the worst burger I have ever had and the chips were also horrible ... not at all crispy and fairly oil soggy ie maybe put into the oil when it wasn't hot enough. The burger was ultra thin and smothered in liquid cheese. The whole thing was a mess. You couldn't pick it up so used a knife and fork but left most of it and all of the chips. My wife's seabass risotto was swimming in liquid so that was more like a soup. Maybe our dishes were provided in a way that French people like it as the place was really busy for a Monday night. In England the food would have been sent back. The waiter didn't ask why we left our food but then if I couldn't speak the language I probably wouldn't have asked either. For us it was not nice food. Some of the other food that was coming out of the kitchen did look good though but this place was not for us. It has a fantastic setting...

First off, tremendous service. Service in the Capbreton-Hossegor area has been hit or miss, and Monsieur Mouette was a major hit. The prices were pretty standard, if not a little on the high end for the area. The food was good, although I wasn't pleased with my order (Tuna Sandwich). For me, the fish was too acidic, like they were going for a seviche sandwich, but the bread was toasted in butter. It left a heavy but unsatisfying experience. It came with a carrot salad that was also very acidic and just overwhelmingly flavored with Turmeric. I'm not sure if anyone finds that combination appealing, but I did not.
That being said, my wife had the Shrimp Curry, which was pretty decent and my sister-in-law had the Gnocchi. I think the Gnocchi was the best meal at the table.
In the end, I think it's worth visiting - it looks like an amazing place to have an adult evening in the area, but I'd maybe ask the server about any dishes that you think you...
Read moreVery pleasant spot with the best view overlooking the marina on a sunny day. Parking is free and right next to restaurant. Tables have to be reserved in advance online or you take the walk of shame or sent to the naughty step. Service is friendly and efficient - businesslike, and the menu is neatly whittled down to simple, well prepared, cooked and served choices.
In many ways this is very high end fast-food with excellent ingredients (the scallops and langoustines were beautiful, although we could have done with a few more given the individual price of the dishes). The interior is mid 1990s Santa Monica with the omnipresent design trope of hanging lightbulbs.
It's a very likeable place; well staffed, fresh ingredients, nice buzz. The food was very enjoyable. But at a price.
One or two more of those langoustines on my fantastically delicious brioche would have...
