Le Mas des Anges — Restaurant in Draguignan

Utterly deceitful, scamming customers hoping they would not realize.

First point, the service. It took ages for the hosts to take our orders and when they did, the wine arrived at the same time as our food. Therefore we had no time to enjoy a few glasses of wine before being served our food

Secondly, one of us ordered prawns for 22 EUR, however we were told this was unavailable. The hostess offered us the seabass, without telling us this was the Chef's suggestion at 48 EUR. That is an abhorrent up-sell of 26 EUR.

Thirdly, one of us ordered the Carbonara and to our shook when the bill came, they added 2 EUR for cream and called it Linguines + Cream. As you can see from my images, the price discrepancy between the Carbonara in the menu and on the receipt, and nowhere is it metioned cream as a supplement. UTTERLY DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOR!

Fourthly, when we made it clear to the management of our qualms they were extremely dismissive and lacked any sort of customer service skills. In the end we decided to walk away and make our feelings public in order to deter future punters from getting scammed the way we did.

This restaurant is extremely expensive for what it is. It seems people go here to flaunt their cash, but to be honest it's dire, food is really average and the service is utterly disgraceful.

I would highly advise people to not go here. It seems like the management finds satisfaction by taking his patrons for absolute mugs. I'm sure he thinks that we are all too drunk to realize that. So please be aware and avoid this place like...

The food was quite bad, firstly I ordered a burger with a medium cooked meat with no mayonnaise but received a well done burger with a mayonnaise. After confronting the staff with my concern, they kept saying that the burger’s steak is medium and there is no mayonnaise but obviously I can clearly see the opposite. Secondly my friend ordered an octopus and it was so chewy that it was not possible to eat it. I am sure it was frozen and they just don’t know how to cook it. Thirdly we ordered carpaccio and again the slices were so thick that the meat was chewy. I am an restaurant person and have been in many restaurants in my life and can tell you that I know carpaccio is supposed to be sliced thinly, because it’s raw. Overall In every meat dish the meat had no taste and overall the service was not it. The only nice thing they could offer us after long complaints that the burger would be free since I didn’t eat...

The food was excellent. Unfortunately the one time I was there, there was a torrential downpour and food and drinks were instantly transformed into soup. We all took refuge inside (I stuck it out as long as I could as I was so reluctant to abandon my fritto misto) but despite being drenched to the skin, staring mournfully out as the remains of our meal all but floated away, we didn't get anything more than a sympathetic smile and the bill from the staff. One of our party was offered a replacement beer as he'd only had a few mouthfuls but I had to make do with only having eaten half my meal. I would have appreciated a towel and maybe a hot drink...
