McDonald's — Restaurant in Gex

Out of spur of the moment I thought to visit this McDonald's. When I wanted to check the opening hours I went through some reviews mentioned here. They were all complaining about the poor service and hospitality this branch offered.

But I felt otherwise. The service was quite and friendly. Off course if you don't speak French, it may be a little awkward, but the staff does speak enough English to pack your order and to provide the service you need.

One could order food using the Self ordering machines (5 of them) at the entrance. They work like charm. The machines supports 6 or 7 languages (English included).

The order was quick and friendly. The tables are clean and the restaurant is cleaned regularly.

Food was delicious with fresh meat and vegetables from the local farms. (Their site says it too)

Overall very satisfied with it. I guess the reviews were old and outdated and the restaurant may have improved over the time.

Had a long day and resorted to this at 10 p.m. while tired. For those used to the bland consistency of McDonalds in the U.S., how bad could it be? Ooops!

For one thing, it took 25 minutes after ordering for the food to arrive.

Other things: the ordering machines say they have support for different languages, so I chose English, but then some following menu screens are half French, half English. Then I paid, which resulted in a screen all in French for which my modest knowledge was insufficient. I whipped out my Google Translate, but by the time I typed in what I didn't know, the screen had already disappeared. But it seemed the order went in.

In the end, the food was so-so as expected. The beer was not cold. When leaving the restaurant, they had turned off all the exterior lights, so I could have easily tripped on the steps which were pretty invisible. Oh, and there was a guy trying to beg me for money in...

I was stolen by a person which called Ger self as a "director". I spent Euro 20,40. I had 20,20 or 50 euro Bill. So I used the 50 Bill. As soon as I gave the money this "director" asked for another person to exchange the money with 5 or 10 euro Bills. After that muito brother in law Gave me a 0,50 centro euro coin. With this coin O returned to the casshier and paid with Euro 20,50. I recived 0,10 cents as Exchange bit show did nota give my 50 euro back. After discussing with a guy which was supposed to be the manager, he Gave me Euro 21,60 assuming that I used the 50 to play the total amount. He returned to ser the security camera and ler me waiting........... After a long time he showed the images but Just showed part of what was recorded.
