Our short stay in this beautiful place was the highlight of our 2-week trip to France. Hervé and Elodie are extraordinary hosts who clearly love what they do. They offered us good advice on hikes to take, and Hervé even shared with me some of the secrets of his truly world-class gratin dauphinois. (The food was out of this world.) We were surprised to be the only Americans in this beautiful place; both the setting and the hiking are gorgeous. We took the demi-pension and were absolutely delighted with every meal; Hervé is a magnificent cook, and even the breakfast is truly wonderful (fresh-squeezed orange juice! fromage frais from down the road!). Read moreNeither of our GPSs had the street name in their databases, but at least got us to the hotel area. Their sign was at the bottom of the stack of hotel names, and pointed to the left. Look up the street for their pink wall and green shutters. You can drop off your luggage in front, then drive up the street to the little parking area to park. Our room was comfortable and quiet. We were offered a choice of a 3-course meal with chicken — or fondue, which we’d been looking forward to, so we opted for that and a nice baked apple & sorbet dessert, accompanied by a nice regional wine.
