Brasserie du Carré — Restaurant in Grenoble

Stumbled across this place purely by accident as we got lost in Grenoble centre trying to find a parking space, plus football match on meant plenty of the younger generation who took a shine to a supercar that we were driving, so on our way back out of Grenoble after giving up trying to find somewhere to eat, we saw a space away from the crowds as switched off the engine - it was getting on quite late into the evening and opposite where we parked the car was this pizza restaurant. We initially dismissed it as wanted something more substantial than a pizza (even though the restaurant looked quite nice decor wise) and googled mapped to see what else was around the area. We did check the reviews of Le Brasserie du Carre as we were on the internet, and what a stroke of luck we did.....

In our very pidgin French we managed to ask for a table for 2 people for that night. We were greeted pleasantly and shown to a table inside - the decor was simple but nicely thought out. The staff on the night were brilliant, and in our rusty French helping us along as well as translating when necessary (most of the time). The food was great and represented good value for money. Altogether we had an enjoyable meal there and coupled with the staffs' friendly attitude if we ever find ourselves in Grenoble again we will most certainly return. Highly recommended. Employees are very welcoming and friendly. Food is amazing. Outdoor seating is well located and totally enjoyable. Warmly recommend! Do not hesitate to ask about Chartreuse strong liquor: the owner is well informed and keep a great selection of it.
