My in-depth review of Folie while on a ski holiday.(I have no affiliation I appreciate decent reviews so I have done the same)
Folie – A Unique Mountain Dining & Entertainment Experience
Vibe & Atmosphere
From the moment you arrive at Folie, the experience feels well-organized. There’s a quick bag check at the entrance—nothing heavy-handed, just a measure to ensure the crowd stays well-behaved. The venue itself has a great setup, and if you're booking, I’d highly recommend reserving a table on the elevated platform. It gives you a fantastic vantage point to soak in the atmosphere while still having your own space, perfect for families or groups who want a mix of relaxation and fun.
The views from the terrace are nothing short of spectacular, especially at sunset with a drink in hand. It’s a brilliant way to round off a ski trip, and the general crowd brings a buzzing but not overly chaotic energy.
Food & Drinks
We went for a full three-course meal with drinks. The starters got great feedback—onion soup in particular was a standout. However, the mains didn’t quite live up to expectations. My steak was disappointingly tough, more like something from Wetherspoons than a high-end mountain restaurant, and the response from staff was a bit underwhelming. That said, the fish and chips were well-received, and the burger was... just a burger, nothing to write home about.
Where Folie truly shines is the desserts. The apple tart was massive—easily sharable but so good I tackled most of it myself. Freshly made, rich, and full of flavor. The lemon tart was also a hit. Honestly, if you’re here for food, my advice would be to go big on starters and desserts, enjoy the drinks, and don’t expect the mains to blow you away.
Entertainment & Energy
This is where Folie truly delivers. Initially, it feels like a lively après-ski bar, but when 2 PM hits, the place transforms into something straight out of Ibiza. The DJ, live singers, and overall vibe shift seamlessly into full-blown party mode. The music was spot on—not too heavy, not too soft—think modern dance with a David Guetta feel. Within minutes, people were up and dancing, and the energy stayed high for a solid couple of hours.
There is a VIP area, and while some of the crowd seemed decent, there were a few who clearly thought they owned the place. Unfortunately, I had a run-in with one of them who pushed my kid, but to Folie’s credit, the staff handled it professionally and immediately. Shoutout to Malik, who was absolutely brilliant—friendly, helpful, and really contributed to making our experience better.
The bouncers were also top-tier—firm but fair, and genuinely welcoming. If you’re nice to the staff, they’ll absolutely look after you.
Tips for Enjoying Folie
✅ Book a table – It’s worth it for a more comfortable and relaxed experience. ✅ Focus on desserts & starters – The mains are hit or miss, but the desserts are exceptional. ✅ Be prepared for the après vibe – From 2 PM onwards, it's a party! ✅ Keep track of your skis – Tie them together with a bungee cord to avoid mix-ups. ✅ Ski back or take the lift – If you’ve had a few drinks, the ski back is manageable but can be a bit mogul-heavy. Alternatively, there’s a lift down for non-skiers or those who’d rather take it easy.
Final Verdict
Would I come back? Absolutely—for the entertainment, the desserts, and the après-ski vibe. The main courses might not be top-tier, but the staff, music, and atmosphere more than make up for it. If you’re looking for a fun, energetic way to cap off a ski day or even your entire trip, Folie is a must-visit. Just be ready for some interesting characters in the VIP section!

Read moreExtremelly rude security from ABC Securite company and especially guy name Mousa. The behavior is outrageous. Our group of 6 came to have lunch, ordered meals and went outside to eat, there was only one free bar table which we took. After some time this one guard came and start shouting in French pointing fingers and even pushing. After a while we understood we cannot stand on one side of the bar so we moved, he did not stop shouting, took my tray with a food and put it on the floor, start pushing my husband. Such a humiliating experience I have never had at any catering place. After a while we found restaurant manager who tried to explain you cannot eat at this place because this is a bar, which apparently will be open in an hour. Well I think there must be some signs or information in advance, or at least security can come and tell politely what they want from us and not behaving like with animals, even some other guest noticed the situation and start offering space at their tables. And later we actually saw other people eating at the same bar table and security did not do anything. This place is a complete mess and not...

Instead of starting the dish from scratch, the meat got grilled until burned black . No problem with the staff, who were very friendly. But the manager on shift did a poor job, didn’t even come out to apologise or offer a coffee for the inconvenience. With prices at this level I expect more. I can only conclude that it happens more often if you can’t be bothered to make an effort as a restaurant manager. We spent the 2 days before enjoying the apres ski at la folie douce and I was looking forward to the lunch. It’s a shame it didn’t go as planned. *reply to the reply below: as far as I know pork should never be bloody. I’ve eten plenty of farm raised pork, and it’s never bloody. Proofed my point though: instead of accepting the food was far from ok, we get some kind of explanation as if I don’t know what I’m...
