Le Saloon — Restaurant in Grenoble

If I could give 0 stars for this review I would. We had an absolutely horrific experience from start to finish. We were treated as an inconvenience from the minute we sat down. The waitress’s attitude was unlike anything I have ever experienced and the food was diabolical. My friend found a pube in her ribs, a steak came blue when it was asked for well done, another burger came completely raw and when asked for a new one cooked more the second burger was just as bad. The waitress also missed an order and then tried blaming it on my friend. Even asking for tap water was a major inconvenience. Upon asking for the bill we explained we will be splitting it and how much each to pay, the waitress refused and told her we cannot do this as it is going to ‘make her life chaos’. She stormed off from the table 3 times huffing at us before telling us to pay at the bar and things just got worse from here.. she told us that we should have got our finances in order before coming on holiday and at this point we were so taken aback we told her how rude she has been to us all evening, but she really didn’t care. She told us to ‘stop talking to her’ and when my friend said that she had never been spoken to like this in a restaurant she said ‘there’s a first time for everything’. In the end we asked for another member of staff to take our payments and this man was pleasant and did apologise. Overall, the worst meal and service I have ever experienced in my entire life. Please please avoid this...

Without a shadow of a doubt, the worst service I’ve ever received in my entire life. Dark haired lady served us. Made us feel like everything we ordered was a complete inconvenience to her when it’s literally her job, just made us feel like we didn’t want to ask for anything. Food came uncooked, twice. Wrong orders were brought out. One order completely missed and then was blamed on us. Hair was also in the burger. Asked for toilet paper for the toilet 5 different times to no avail. We wanted to split the bill, as is normal, and the waitress just refused it. There was 15 of us, we needed to split. The waitress then just walked away from the table, 3 different times. Ended up arguing with her because of the way she was speaking to the women in our group. The gentleman in the hat behind the bar however, was very pleasant and we resolved the issue through him. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Absolute recommendation. We were very early for food (we're Dutch and haven't adapted to the times yet) but we were welcome anyway. We spent 2 hours waiting and the waiter brought us crisps to keep us alive till the kitchen opened. I'll never forget this gesture, it was a lifesaver ;)

So we sat there chilling for like 2 hours and the kitchen opened and...

I ordered the Confit de Canard burger and it was awesome amazing and everything I hoped for and more. 😱 I've eaten a lot of burgers and this one just jumped into my top 3 like it was nothing. It was rich in flavour but not too much, the lettuce was fresh, the confit was soggy as its supposed to be, the sauce fitted nicely... I was in love.

Tl;dr: Lovely staff, amazing confit de canard...
