Pizzéria La Vetrata — Restaurant in Grenoble

We were a party of four, eager to try this restaurant, but unfortunately, we never even got to taste the food due to shockingly rude service.

Upon arrival, we were told to wait outside for five minutes while a waitress slowly cleaned our table, refusing to let us sit down until she was done. Once seated, we were then asked to move—under the pretense of being given a “better” table—when in reality, it was smaller. This was done just to accommodate a solo diner because they didn’t want to give him a four-person table. To make matters worse, this latecomer was served before us.

When we finally placed our order (four drinks and three meals, including a large pizza to share), we were met with unnecessary hostility. We were rudely informed that sharing a pizza wasn’t allowed because they are “not a snack bar.” The tone and attitude of the staff were so appalling that we decided to leave before receiving any food.

This establishment lost approximately €100 in sales that day—not just for our meals but also for the coffee and desserts we had planned to order. Given the terrible service and rude treatment, I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

We were an party of 4, but Unfortunately due to a very rude member of staff we never got to try the food, as we were told to wait outside for 5 minutes while a very rude waitress was slowly cleaning our table. And we weren’t allowed to sit down at the table until she had finished. After this we were put at our table then few minutes later we were asked to move tables, so they could accommodate a single person, because they didn’t want to give him a table that could sit 4 people, as we were sat a 2 single tables, we were moved under the guise of a better table for us, although it was smaller. The late comer who took our table was also served before us! When we finally ordered (there were 4 of us) we ordered 4 drinks 3 meals, one was a big pizza to share, and would have order coffee and dessert, but we left before we even got any of the food, as we were rudely explain to, that it wasn’t possible to share the pizza meal, as they’re not a snack bar. We had a lovely meal here, I had the ravioli with cheese, it was lovely, my wife had a plain burger and said it was also really tasty, service was excellent, the young girl that served us was friendly and informative, we did arrive 10 mins after the restaurant opened so not many others eating, our food was prompt and cooked perfectly, I’m really surprised to read some of these recent bad reviews, I’ve had many bad experiences in French mountain restaurants in Avoriaz and Alpe d’Huez, we have had only good experiences in les...
