Hôtel Restaurant Campanile Guéret — Restaurant in Guéret

This is not a hotel. It is a very large portakabin divided into pods with stairs added on the outside for access to each pod. Owing to the nature of the structure, noise from everywhere inside and outside could be heard all of the time. The beds were very hard so I asked for a duvet which I placed over the mattress, bought some earplugs and finally on the third night got some sleep. Reception is in the restaurant which is the only standard looking structure. There is nowhere to sit and relax as there would be in a proper hotel. The pod was warm and clean. The staff were polite however when our car was scratched overnight in the 'secure' car park, the CCTV camera wasn't covering it, so no help could be given. We didn't eat there, we ate at Crescendo at Carrefour and the quality and choice of menu was very good indeed. These places should not advertise themselves as hotels, they are not. 20 Euros a night would be too much to pay for accomodation like this. We paid double. We saw guests leaving pods with both...

Arriving at 9.00 pm after a long hot drive we were grateful to find a room for the night. The greeting was friendly and very helpful ( we were travelling in a very old open top car in extremely hot weather). The room was as you expect from Campanile, though perhaps the maid needs to check inside the bathroom with the door closed as there was dirt behind the bathroom door - otherwise the place was clean and tidy and very comfortable. We were relieved that we could still eat in the restaurant, or rather outside on the terrace, and again all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
