Restaurant An-Nam — Restaurant in Istres

Very bad experience at this restaurant. The parking was completely full so I parked temporarily in one spot to go inside and ask for some advice to park since I saw a lot of cars parked behind others. Right away the (maybe) main waitress came outside speaking to us in a very rude way saying that we could not park there, I speak French but it is not that good and how she was speaking I asked if she could speak in English and I explained that I was right away going inside to ask for parking advice, either way she continued to speak to me in a very rude way. Sent us away saying the restaurant was full, meanwhile I stayed there searching in my phone for another place to eat and 3 new groups of customers went inside with no problems to be accepted. It can be a good restaurant but I never been treated this way by anyone in any restaurant and I started the conversation in a very apologetic way and being very nice even though the conversation didn’t start well. Very disappointed with the quality of the food, as we were expecting much more, after reading other reviews. On other hand, the staff was friendly and comprehensive (they even exchanged my plate as I forgot to inform about my allergies while ordering), also the view is stunning, especially during the sunset. It’s pity that the food was very poor. My daughter who is vegetarian couldn’t even finish veggies because of how it was salty and I had to leave my shrimps that did not have a good taste. A proximité d'une toute petite plage au bord de l'étang avec vue panoramique sur le site pétrochimique de Vitrolles, bof, bof. Nous avions réservé pour 19h30. A notre arrivée toutes les tables en terrasse et à proximité de la baie vitrée étaient disponibles, soi-disant réservées ; la plupart d'entre elles étaient encore disponibles à notre départ et nous avons dîner tout au fond de la salle peu agréable. Nous avons pris les nems (9 eur) : 5 gros nems, trop cuits, secs et sans aucune saveur). J'ai également pris le poulet à citronnelle sur plaque en fonte (17 eur) : il n'avait aucune saveur de citronnelle, en revanche, il ne sentait pas bon et avait un goût amer et trop salé. A ce tarif-là, on ne s'attend pas à de la grande cuisine mais là, je n'y ai pas touché. Idem pour mon amie qui a pris un plat à base de boeuf/légumes et qu'elle n'a pas apprécié (pas de saveur et également trop salé). Lorsqu'on a signalé notre déception à la serveuse, elle a été étonnée mais nous a toutefois proposé d'échanger contre un autre plat (franchement, on a préféré s'abstenir). Elle aurait pu simplement nous offrir un café mais cela n'avait pas l'air dans l'esprit de la maison.
