We ordered the Grand Cru menu with wine pairings (3 glasses). The starter was oysters presented like a delicate jelly with beef tartare underneath, topped with a few popcorn pieces that added layers of texture. I especially loved the spiciness of the radish, which perfectly balanced the umami flavours.

For the main, we had the blue lobster—so fresh and delicious! The meat paired beautifully with the lobster sauce, which was lifted by just the right touch of vinegar. The refreshing, sober dessert at the end was the perfect way to finish the meal without feeling overwhelmed.

We visited on the second night after opening under the Guiraud management and had a wonderful evening. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The maitre d’ was perfect, advising on the best wine to take (as we had the 4 course menu) and introducing each dish in detail, as well as being friendly and amusing. As for the food….superb. Every dish is from local ingredients and prepared, presented and served in an elegant manner with great tastes. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Cercle to anyone who wants a relaxing...

A drive through the wine regions of Sauternes with no particular plan allowed us to stumble across this little French restaurant. Arriving a little late and asking if they had a table meant a lot of shrugging of shoulders and chatting but then came the Oui! Who knew at the time this would end up being our best meal in 5 months of travelling through Europe. A new restaurant since it only opened in July, it’s a must visit if you are in this region.
