Boulangerie Feuillette — Restaurant in Le Havre

We visited this establishment this morning based on the reviews I had read.

Although the food was nice, I am utterly disappointed by the service provided and the way I was made to feel as a customer.

Upon arrival I apologised in French that my ability to speak the language was limited however I was attempting to communicate. The brunette staff member looked at the male staff member also working at the counter to which he made a large display of rolling his eyes and scoffing at the fact that we spoke English. I was immediately made to feel stupid and unwelcome in the store.

We still continued to place our order and upon paying thanked the woman in French to which she ignored and shoved the food at us.

I hope if you ever come to Australia you experience the same thing so you know how it feels, wait actually we aren't rude like that and have some class and hospitality.

If you don't speak fluent French don't bother going. You will find a much better experience in small town bakeries who appreciate you...

We visited the bakery for breakfast after taking the overnight ferry from Portsmouth and could not believe the incredible range of fresh cakes, pastries and sandwiches available - the choice is absolutely huge and all presented so beautifully. We had a breakfast of just baked pain au chocolat, freshly squeezed orange juice and toasted sandwiches, and even sampled some of the exquisite patisseries - the pistachio one was wonderful. As we were travelling on to a self catering holiday we took a weeks worth of treats with us including a fresh warm baguette, cannélles, a huge box of macarons in every colour/flavour, and my favourite - the giant pastry brioche - absolutely the loveliest breakfast treat I’ve sampled. I will make sure I stock up at Feuillette Bakery every time I come over to France, it’s worth a visit and so easy to access...

Cliente de la première heure cet établissement me comblait au niveau de la qualité des produits j’en faisais même la promotion auprès de mon entourage mais samedi 16 mars, j’ai été victime d’un comportement que je n’ai pas du tout apprécié puisqu’il était humiliant ayant eu lieu devant une longue file de Clients. J’étais avec ma fille qui avait son chiot dans les bras. Une personne s’est occupé de nous nous a demandé ce que nous voulions. Nous avons dit que nous allions déjeuner sur place Aucune remarque nous nous a été faite à propos du chiot. La personne commençait à préparer nos plateaux. Quand une autre personne s’est interposé et a dit vous comptez manger sur place? Nous avons répondu. Oui Elle a rétorqué toujours aussi agressive les chiens sont interdits nous avons répondu. Nous comptons manger dehors sur la terrasse, ils sont interdits également sur la terrasse. C’est écrit ! En effet, il y a un minuscule panneau sur la devanture qu’il est très difficile de voir si on n’y prête pas attention …..Pour la petite anecdote. La terrasse était vide. Tous les clients étaient à l’intérieur donc nous n’aurions importuné personne , du coup nous sommes allées dans un établissement concurrent où nous avons pu déjeuner tranquillement avec le chien. Je suis outrée du manque d’amabilité de la part de cette personne qui s’est permis de nous sermonner….. de très grands restaurants acceptent les chiens même à l’intérieur quand ils sont tenus en laisse, et qu’ils restent sages couchés sous la table , nous vivons dans un monde où l’intolérance se trouve à tous les niveaux et là c’est vraiment le summum car nous ne comptions pas déjeuner à l’intérieur mais à l’extérieur. Du coup nous sommes parties très vexées et avec l’intention de ne pas revenir dans cet établissement…. Et avec l’envie d’en parler de manière moins positive...
