Excellent restaurant in Pomerol. They have a three course menu for both lunch and dinner. They also have a monthly three course lunch special menu which was excellent. My friend and I had reserved a table for noon and the restaurant kindly accommodated our request for a later seating, at short notice.
We opted for the March lunch special menu, which only cost €27 excluding drinks. We had a mushroom soup with pork served garnished with croutons and seaweed for starters. The main dish was a white fish served with scallops and grains in a delicious white sauce. The dessert was an unusual rice pudding with caramelised pear and sea salt, caramel sauce.
The restaurant had only been open for two days post winter and did not have English menus available. However, the manager was kind enough to explain the menu to us. Service was quick and efficient and the restaurant was very busy. The decor is a little dated, but the food Outweighs that.

Read moreMy fiancé and I were visiting vineyards in the area and came for lunch. Hostess greeted us in French very nicely and asked if it was for just 2, started walking with us towards a table and when she heard our accents (American) she immediately changed her attitude and told us “no tables, fully booked”. Over half the restaurant was empty. We had a confused look and she just kept saying “no no fully booked.” We were dressed appropriately so there was no excuse other than her just not wanting to host Americans. It’s sad that literally 5 minutes prior I was telling my fiancé how in love I was with the city and how everyone’s so nice and we...
