It is our very first time in Lyon. We were just looking for somewhere to have soup for lunch. We stumbled upon Quenelles Giraudet not knowing that we were walking into a little slice of heaven. We are English speakers (with very little French). Not a problem, the whole menu was explained to us in detail. The detail sounded great and the food itself was even better than it sounded when it arrived a few minutes later. The quenelles were so light, airy, delicate and tasty. The soup was so obviously made fresh and beautifully seasoned. One of us had friand for dessert with simply gorgeous raspberry couli. The other had a chocolate fondant to die for. It was not very busy and the lovely woman working there was very friendly and took time to chat with me (I think her name was Nicole, but I can't remember for sure - I should have written this review sooner!). She told me about Quenelles, which I had never heard of before visiting, and she recommended some restaurants for dinner.
