I went to Zoï on my birthday (15-05-2024 15:40) with my boyfriend, just to enjoy a simple coffee. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off — pretentious and unwelcoming. We were greeted with loud, mocking laughter coming from either a waitress or maybe a cook’s friend, dressed in a way that felt more like a bad joke than hospitality.
Then we were served by the barwoman, who had such a cold, dismissive attitude it was honestly shocking. No warmth, no courtesy — just total indifference.
We paid 9€ for two coffees and left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. This place tries to come off as modern and edgy, but in reality, it’s full of repressed, judgmental people who don’t know the first thing about genuine hospitality.
Won’t be going back and absolutely do not recommend it.
reply to you reply: 16:21 15.05.2025 It would have been more appropriate to acknowledge the mistake and offer an apology, rather than becoming defensive and attacking your customers. We posted photos of our order to clearly support our experience — not to harm your business, but to describe what happened.
Your reply only reinforces the attitude we encountered, and sadly confirms our decision never to return, even though we are neighbours....
Read moreI loved this coffee shop in Lyon. I have visited three times during my stay, and I try not to repeat places when I am traveling to be able to experience more. However, their cookies and chai lattes are addictive and their ambiance is perfect.
You can use your computer Monday to Friday as they have fast and reliable wifi. The place is cosy, comfortable, and quiet.
I think the only feedback I would give is to completely fill the cup for chai lattes. It is kind of disappointing getting a cup 3/4 full, and the 3rd time I went I was served by a different barista who made it only 1/2 full. When I asked her to put a little more milk she said that was the size which I understand, but still think it is small.
Other than that I will keep coming before I leave this...
Read moreI Zoï patisserie was the best find in the whole city. Beautiful spot with outdoor tables to enjoy the vibrant bohemian vibe of the Crois Rousse and nice cosy Indoor table with Wi-Fi, ideal for remote workers and students. The whole menu is plant based, I love the fact is not openly said as the look of the bakery goods attract everyone in and gives the chance to non vegan to enjoy a guil free delicious cinnamon roll , highly reccomamded, or praline cookies. So soft, fragrant and delicious.
I had a cinnamon roll and chai latte to take in and, a sandwich and a cookie to take away for a later lunch on the go as I k ew was going to be difficult to fi d a vegan option.
I wish there was a place like this in the town I live.
Just be aware service is at...
