We enjoyed a fantastic 3 course dinner here last night, with everything cooked and presented to perfection. Grilled octopus, beautiful steak with beef cheeks and a rich jus, and the best strawberry dessert I have ever tasted. The Scottish and English owners are so friendly and delight in presenting their exceptional cooking. Excellent qualify wines, eg Pouilly Fume, sold by the carafe, which is an unusual big plus. All the food and drinks are so reasonably priced. The lady owner told us that there was live music in the square tonight, so we thought that we should partake of their hospitality for another dinner! The beautiful town square makes a lovely backdrop to the outside tables, and our little dog was welcomed, and glad of the shaded tables. My second visit this trip to this lovely restaurant in St Savin, The food is just amazing and the service is very polite and personal. The menu changes from day to day and there is always a new dish to try, 2 or 3 courses you get fantastic value for money for the quality of the food and the whole eating experience, I highly recommended this restaurant. This visit I had 3 courses, starting with the 'pan seared king scallop', followed by a main course of 'baked ray wing' and finishing with a cheese selection, which comes with a nice glass...

A year on and what has changed? Harriet and Andy have really embraced the local atmosphere and are providing the best food in the area. They have evolved their menus and provide exceptional value at lunchtime with an expanded menu in the evenings. Menus change according to market availability but are never less than varied and served with a touch of Andy’s (the Chef) creativity and Harriet’s front-of-house charm. A Michelin recommendation...
