my family used to visit this place almost every day during our vacation and it was ok, but today we faced with extremely disgusting service. We tried to order âParillada de la mer 1 persâ in order to share with my wife. A waitress was insisting that we should order this dish for 2 person (the portion is bigger, price is around 2 times more). Her argument was: as we are two person, we should order double portion. My argument, that the double portion is too much and we donât need so much, didnât work for her. In the end of long discussion I insisted that we ordered a single portion. The waitress was clearly not happy and she took away cutlery from my wife in a quite rude manner (the logic apparently: if you order single portion, than you have only cutlery for just one person). and guess whatâs happened then? after 20-30 min waitress brought us the dish for 2 persons!!!!!! it was incredible!!! then the same type conversation: ââŠyou are two person, you need double portion..â. The waitress didnât listen to us at all, she apparently knew better what we needed!!! to my request to ask the manager, the answer was this waitress was a manager (I was trying to talk to other waiters but they could not help as this lady indeed turned out to be a manager or like senior waitress). thus, nobody could fix the problem, so we just left this place and had a lunch in the restaurant next to it.    Read moreI recently spent 2 weeks in la Grande Motte with my best pal David. We discovered this amazing restaurant/ cafe/ bar after 2 days and we were hooked from then. First of all I must mention the staff. Everyone who works there is super friendly and hard working. Very attentive personnel. The owner, John the manager, Marine the hostess with the mostest, Soline- fantastic English and our fav waiter le francais/ portuguais welcomed us every night. Fantastic people. The view from the place is magnificent. Seating available outside or inside. Live football on big screens. The menus are extensive. Big breakfasts, sumptuous lunches and hearty dinners from an incredibly inexpensive set menu price or push the boat out and dine a la carte. Drinks list is impressive and again great value. The food is delicious and you will not be kept waiting long to savour great quality at a reasonable price. Do yourself a favour- if you are in la Grande Motte you simply must visit le Charibari. AppelĂ©e au tĂ©lĂ©phone, je mâĂ©loigne 10 minutes. A mon retour, je demande si la commande a Ă©tĂ© prise, la rĂ©ponse est non. Je vais voir un serveur et lui passe la commande. Il me dit que ce nâest plus possible et que seuls les clients pour dĂźner sont acceptĂ©s. Je lui dit quâil doit y avoir un malentendu puisque nous avons dĂ©jĂ Ă©tĂ© installĂ©s. Je vais donc retrouver le serveur qui nous a installĂ© et lui faire part de mon Ă©tonnement. Il me dit quâil va se renseigner, revient et me confirme que nous ne pouvons pas ĂȘtre servis si nous ne dĂźnons pas (je prĂ©cise que les tables oĂș nous Ă©tions nâĂ©taient pas dressĂ©s Ă la diffĂ©rence des tables Ă dĂźner et que les personnes attablĂ©es aux alentours prenaient juste un verre). TrĂšs embĂȘtĂ©e de cette situation ubuesque et mal Ă lâaise vis-Ă -vis notamment de ma mĂšre que jâavais invitĂ© Ă sortir en vue de passer un bon moment, je me dĂ©cide Ă aller voir le patron. Je lui fais part de ma gĂȘne devant cette situation, lui explique le caractĂšre exceptionnel de la sortie familiale et lui demande comme un service de bien vouloir accepter de nous servir en lui prĂ©cisant que nous serons partis sous 15 minutes. Inflexible, il me rĂ©ponds que ce nâest pas possible et que sâil fait ça pour nous, il devra le faire pour les autres. Pas une once dâesprit commercial ou dâhumanitĂ©. Jâai Ă©tĂ© extrĂȘmement déçue de ce comportement et de la tension gĂ©nĂ©rĂ©e inutilement. Entre-temps, ma fille a commencĂ© son biberon, quâelle devait bien finir.
