Yiwu Ramen Montpellier — Restaurant in Montpellier

I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen, and immediately thought it was the original Japanese version but instead it came with more Chinese flavor tones. The beef ramen broth came very bland and also with typical chinese flavors (this one I thought it would be chinese as we are in a chinese restaurant). One thing I really liked was the noodles. It is a traditional Yi Wu noodles they where fresh and tasty and I have never had ramen with the thick noodles apart from Udon so it was quite nice to have this new taste on the beef noodles and gave it a big boost. If only the broth had been thicker and maybe had some original Japanese flavor I would give it a super 5 stars!! All in all it was not bad maybe I am just too picky when it comes...

This is a cute place conveniently open near Gare St Roch but I cannot say much for the food. I am a long time ramen fan from living in Hawaii, Los Angeles and New York and there is good ramen to be found in Montpellier. But not here. Yes it is noodles in a hot broth but the taste is nothing like traditional Japanese ramen — almost a curry taste rather than simple shoyu or salt style or more robust miso or tonkatsu. People same to like the food but if you are looking for traditional ramen...

Originally I thought if this restaurant is a bit overpriced. But after I tried coupled times, for the portion they have, I think the price is reasonable. Especially after a long train trip and I can still get through by one bowl of noodle, the portion is very nice. And the food tastes good as well. Maybe they can mention this is a Chinese noodle or Chinese ramen so the new customers won't have a wrong expectations and mix up with the...
