Everything was ok until we got our food served. My wife had Pave de salmon and i had Cotes d,agnau grilees. My food was served on a plank and the gravy was dripping from it (on my white clothes) but this is not even why i only give one star to this restaurant.
As soon as we tried to eat (after cleaning the gravy) more then 30 green/black flies attacked our table, it was a surreal experience i have never seen before in my life!! We tried waving them away but it was just impossible to eat that way. According to the boss (Marianne i guess) this is completely normal with these kind of temperatures and the dishes we ordered. We told her that if its normal she should warn customers not to order these dishes and that we did not experience anything in other restaurants under similar circumstances.
Of course Chez Marianne is not responsible for flies, but if it were my restaurant i would take take preventive measures to ensure my guest can have a good experience while dining.
Furthermore, the worst thing besides her not taking our complaint seriously (while it was obvious to the staff and all other guest that eating like this was impossible) was that she overcharged us for a complete meal. In other words, in stead of apologies for a lesser dining experience, she wanted to rip is off for an extra € 28 euro.
Marianne, after seeing the sheer invasion of flies at our dining table, you could have handled our complaint far better then you did. If it was my restaurant and my guest leaving unsatisfied and still hungry (we left 10 minutes after being served) i would have felt bad and would have apologized.
You trying to rip us of for € 28 euros is just unforgivable. I don,t believe this is a simple mistake you made..
Steer clear people, just around the corner there is an excellent restaurant called...
Read moreChez Marianne was a warm and welcoming restaurant to spend our last evening at. The drinks were great, the food even better! The young woman on service was attentive and kind to interact with. We were the last ones at the restaurant and it didn’t last long before we made conversation with the staff, Marianne herself and her friends. We had a lot of laughs and the language barrier didn’t stop anyone from having fun. A beautiful evening where quality food and good wine brings people together. We will definitely come back next year. Thank you for giving us such a good time....
