Unfortunately, I can’t tell anything good about this place. My wife and I went there for lunch on the 1st of January, when all other restaurants were closed. After seven or ten minutes of waiting at the entrance for someone to take us to our table we finally asked one waiter to pay attention for us. After that, we asked every waiter to take our order, but everyone replied “only Mama can take your order for the food”. So we waited for ten minutes or so to be able to make an order. We were planning to have a “full scale” dinner later in the evening - and Da Rossana Restaurant looked a great place to do it - and also we had had quite a heavy breakfast in our hotel restaurant in the morning. For those reasons we decided to have a light lunch, so we chose one plate for me and a dessert and a coffee for my wife. After we have said what we would like to have, the lady who took our order became very aggressive and said “You can’t take just one plate - this is not a snack bar!”. We replied that we are ready to take more (and not have a heavy dinner later), but she didn’t listen and just repeated her unkind words - nevertheless, accepting our order.
The food and the dessert were quite OK (not perfect, though), but after such an incident and such attitude our mood was terrible.
If we were told something like “We refuse to take your order, since each guest has to take at least two plates”, we would have easily understood it. But we find accepting our order with such an unkind reaction totally inappropriate.
In Italy we ate in restaurants of all possible categories - and at all times the attitude was very warm and kind. The Da Rossana restaurant in Eze remained in our memory as the most “non-Italian” Italian restaurant.
We’ll never come to this restaurant again and won’t recommend...
Read moreThe worse place ever! Avoid it like a plague. Super under cooked lobster pasta (not eve close to the Italian style, which apparently that was excuse it always is served undercooked, but that was not the Italian style as one could taste literally the flour, was awful, impossible to eat, which I have returned, there was no apologies from the staff, the lady owner came and said since I ate the 3 tiny pieces of the lobster (there was zero lobster meat in it just some ridiculous and tasteless pieces of tales endings, she said cause I have eaten that I have to pay the full price of €45 of the dish, I suggested in this case I pay for half price of the dish for the tiny pieces of lobster but no, they demanded I pay full, literally 3 people of her staff were coming to the table when bill came all acting surprised that I wish the dish to be removed from my bill and forced me to pay without any remorse, any apologies, coffee/desert offering for my son. Nothing. The awful pasta food was served after unwelcoming experience where our table was not ready on time and after we were already waiting for over an hour for our meal and been served at 10.40pm as last table probably all rushed last meals of the day. Scraps. Zero manners, no class. Just pure pro profit with force. I feel totally violated with no customer rights? Horrendous. There was no one sweet kind moment from even one person of entire staff to offer anything, to apologies just to be kind. One goes to the restaurant for full experience to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, the people. Please spread the word and unite with me here and do not dine at this place. There are many sweet charming places near Ez on the coast to have amazing dining experiences. This is definitely...
Read moreHands down the the most unpleasant dining experience I've ever had. It was unpleasant to the point of becoming humorous. I felt like I was on an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The food was actually okay and the waitstaff were just fine, but the owner and her manager/son are where this restaurant has its problems. After spending $300 USD+ dining alone, I was told to "enjoy my cheap life and that I am not "chic enough for this establishment" after I was moved to a hidden corner midway through my entree. Yes, I was in casual attire after spending the day at the Grand Prix in Monaco. Yet a self described casual restaurant could have simply said they had a dress code and Id have happily gone elsewhere. Had I read the reviews in advance, I certainly would have chosen a different restaurant but, instead stumbled across it on my way from my hotel. I do not imagine this place has much of a future and I invite its owner and her poor excuse for a son/manager to visit me and my cheap life in New York City. I'll happily show them a few restaurants that will teach them proper service...
