This is local to where we stayed on our visit to Nice, and how lucky we were that we found such a gem.
Let's be clear. We were hear as a family of tourists from England. This place is not really a tourist trap. There are plenty of those in the old town and sea front.
Service: All the people are cool. Professional but jolly. Everyone made us feel welcome. They usually get everything right but the true measure is how the team responds when something goes wrong, like when the wrong pizza came out leaving me without my dinner while my wife and kids had theirs. There was no fuss, just rapid rectification. The correct pizza was here within about 5 minutes. And it was delicious.
Food: If you're a Brit or American and you think you're going to get British or American food, you might want to go to the MacDonalds elsewhere in the city. The food here is superb. None of the rubbish us Brits usually get. We ate there twice. One night we went for the very French food. I can't lie. It was hard going. Only because we're not used to it. But it was good. Another night we went for pizzas and steaks. Absolutely perfection.
Atmosphere: Somewhere between informal restaurant and pub. It's not rowdy, but there's a positive vibe of people just enjoying themselves.
Overall: I rarely give five star reviews. Even if I like somewhere I usually think there's room for an extra star. I can't fault this place. I think as long as you step in knowing that if you choose the less touristy items off the menu it might be a little unfamiliar, it's great. And if you don't want to be adventurous? Well, the pizzas and steaks and things are maybe more familiar territory but cooked to perfection.
Would I bring my family here again? Without doubt. If we come back to...
Read moreWe have been to Le Rossini many times since moving to Nice almost 2 years ago. It’s one of our favorites to bring visitors to and a great option to escape the busyness of city center. My wife and I reserved a table this week to celebrate my birthday. We both ordered the moules frites, one of our favorite things on the menu. Le Rossini has some of the best fries that we have found in Nice. We always look forward to them! However, the mussels were quite disappointing this time. They always serve you a large portion, but many of ours were cracked/broken, completely closed or the mussels themselves were shriveled. Most of the mussel beards had not been removed, so my wife and I were forced to individually remove them as we ate. While most of these things don’t affect the taste, it did make us question the quality of the mussels and if they have been selected and cleaned properly before cooking. Everything else we ordered that night and have ordered in the past has been delicious. This won’t be our last time at Le Rossini, just disappointed in the quality of...
Read moreMy friend and I came here before my flight, hoping for a quick meal. We sat down at 16:35 and had to find a waiter ourselves by 16:50 just to place our order — a simple pasta dish.
We waited over an hour, and by 17:50 the food still hadn’t arrived. With my flight approaching, we had no choice but to leave. When we explained this, the staff refused to remove the pasta from the bill — even though it hadn’t been served — and pressured us into paying for it. We felt genuinely intimidated.
As we paid, they suddenly handed us the pasta in a takeaway box with no cutlery, despite knowing we had to eat it on the go. The manager was just as rude and unhelpful as the waiter.
Completely unacceptable service. No empathy, no professionalism. Would never come back or recommend. AVOID...
