From the moment we walked in it felt intimate and welcoming. The host was very pleasant and showed us to our table. Please note that even our driver who dropped us off asked if we had a reservation. This is a really small space so reservations are pretty much needed for any time of day. You will be probably surprised by the amount of football paraphernalia. Apparently the local team is either sponsored or just well beloved by the owners of this restaurant. There is some outdoor seating, but it is limited. Most of the seating is indoors and probably isn’t the best for large groups. It does look like they can accommodate up to 6 to 10 people at one table area. They do seasonal menu items and while we were visiting mushrooms were the focus so they had an entire menu based on the mushrooms listed on a chalkboard that they provided table. They also have other recommendations, the restaurant as well as a standing menu. Our server, Alice was wonderful. She made some great recommendations and we came to our own conclusions and selected two items to share as well as a great bottle of wine. In English the best way to describe one is squid. And the other we had was the Sicilian pizza. All the pizzas are made by one person which you can see from inside the dining area using the brick oven, which was really cool. We also had an amazing dessert with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream and fresh made...
Read moreI was really looking forward to having dinner at this restaurant. We booked at least 10 days in advance and decided to go with their suggested list instead of the regular menu to try something unique. We chose the Alouette sans tête and the Sardines farcies, but unfortunately, neither dish lived up to our expectations.
I’ll admit that I may not have fully understood what I was ordering, even though the waiter tried to explain, but that’s not really the issue. What disappointed me was that the waiter noticed I didn’t enjoy my meal and made no effort to address it. The same thing happened with the beer I initially ordered—it had some unusual floating particles that I only noticed in the light. When I pointed it out, the waiter briefly took it away, then returned with the same beer, simply explaining that it was normal, despite knowing I was uncomfortable with it.
As for the Sardines farcies, my friend was also disappointed—mainly because they still had bones, which made eating them a bit risky, and the dish itself was quite bland. She had been excited to try something special but ended up regretting not choosing the carbonara instead.
Maybe we made the wrong choices, but we did ask for recommendations, and the waiter wasn’t particularly helpful in guiding us. Overall, I don’t really understand the hype around this restaurant and, based on our experience, wouldn’t...
Read moreI was invited by my dearest, most generous friends, who had been raving about this place and were eager to share it with us. My friend even generously ordered a bottle of champagne — it arrived poorly chilled, and turned out to be a mediocre brand despite the high price. The hors d’oeuvres were bland, tired, and tasted like they’d been prepped the day before. The restaurant was packed, and while the ambiance was pleasant, the food was a disaster. My courgettes farcies were tasteless, with poor-quality meat. The “fish of the day” rougets, looked fresh when shown to us, but what was actually served was cold, soggy with oil, and stank of rot, leaving a bitter aftertaste from the guts left inside. It was obvious they’d shown us two fresh fish as a decoy, then swapped them for stale ones from the back. When we complained about the rotten fish, the waiter didn’t flinch, didn’t apologise, and certainly didn’t take anything off the bill. Later, we learned the original chef had died and the new one is clearly clueless. Shame on them. Avoid at all costs. I felt truly sorry for my friends, who ended up footing the bill for what was nothing more than an overpriced...
