A Must-Visit Dreamy French Restaurant in Paris

This stunning historical building of Empire, Belle Époque and Art nouveau styles that was transformed into a restaurant for the Universal Exhibition of 1900. @la_grande_cascade_ has a wonderful glass ceiling and terrace where it’s so agreeable to dine even in colder days ✨ You can enjoy here classic old Paris vibes and the ‘country’ air of the Bois de Boulogne. Georges Menut lovingly maintains the image of a “grande dame”, but modernity is ensured with the cooking of chef Frédéric Robert (who previously worked for t L’Ambroisie, Le Vivarois and Lucas-Carton). 📍 @la_grande_cascade_ Collaboration commerciale | Invitation #paris #beautifulrestaurants #michelinrestaurants #guidemichelin #seemyparis #parisjetaime #mylittleparis #beautifuldestinations #archilovers #parisianvibe #thenoisetier #hiddengems

#101 in my Parisian Michelin Stars marathon under a year. Follow me for the other reviews. Lost in time. What’s interesting here? Here it’s the coherence of the place. First the building : a charming « pavillon « from the 19th century. The location : in the « woods » at the limits of Paris (technically you’re in paris, not in a suburb, as you are in the sixteenth. The dining room: check the video, it’s clearly from another era. The food: very bourgeois, fits perfectly with the rest. This very strong coherence makes it delightful. And I forgot the service that goes with it, with a voiturier etc… What’s great ? Well you can indulge in a very bourgeoise cuisine with no guilt as you were traveling in time! Truly, I had a great experience because I could enjoy a cuisine that is not that common anymore. Solid one star that should be more known

You expect perfect service and excellent food at a Michelin starred restaurant, but La Grande Cascade goes far beyond that, they create an elegant and exceptional experience in a delightful atmosphere. We had the Signature Dinner an course after course were lovely flavorful tastes that melded wonderfully with the wine pairings. The crab and caviar appetizer was particularly heavenly. The service was seamless, professional yet with real charm, humor, and warmth that is so rarely seen. We would highly recommend without any hesitation this marvelous gastronomic experience.

Vibe: 7 Service: 8 Food: 7 Value: 3 TOTAL: 6.25 $500 meal that did not come close to Michelin quality. The flavors in each course either didn’t work well together or was missing a vital component (e.g. lack of acidity to cut through a very savory dish). Service here was outstanding. Definitely what you would expect of a Michelin restaurant. They were attentive, made sure my champagne and water glass was filled. Pulled my chair out for me and folded my napkin when I walked away to use the restroom. I took some points away from service because of some misleading offerings. When we arrived, they poured us each a glass of champagne which we thought was complimentary. But when the bill came, we realized it wasn’t. Seems kind of misleading to force a glass of champagne like that. They did the same thing with espresso at the and of the meal. At other Michelin 1-stars, they offered many complimentary snacks/drinks that were part of the large per person price (e.g. Contraste). We spent $440 at a different 1-star Michelin, Contraste, just the night before and it was fantastic. Flavors were complex but complimentary, wine pairing was a part of this $440 price tag AND paired very well with each dish. For $205 per person, La Grande Cascade was by far the most disappointing meal in my lifetime.
