Le Moderne — Restaurant in Pontarlier

We stayed in this hotel for nearly 50 days during sep to oct 1987. Can't believe 34 years have passed away.I can't forget the hospitality of Mrs Mary france. Her husband used to look after the bar and Mary france used to provide us food. They allowed us to cook our vegetarian food in their hotel kitchen. We learnt here how to take bath without wetting the floor. Thanks a lot for all the help. We visited for our training at France ebauches which was within a mile from this hotel. My partner and I visited this restaurant in July 2019. The head of the restaurant refused to serve us a meal for reasons that remained difficult to understand. Discrimination maybe? My partner and I returned yet again August 2019 for a meal. The head of the restaurant received us very coldly. Later for our meal we were served over cooked french fries. The fries were almost like crisps. What I failed to comprehend was that other customers were served french fries cooked at the correct consistency. The waiters were very nice though. I shall definitely never return to dine...

The food was well presented, and the chef put a lot of effort into making the dish looking professional. The food was delicious. There is plenty of fresh baguette. The local cheese plate was delicious.

The actual restaurant is like a little museum, loafs of random old objects to look at. A unique restaurant. Real nice.

The owners were really friendly, if you eat here, you won't be disappointed. If you haven't tried snails before, do try them. There...
