This is a well run hotel with a remarkable restaurant attached but this is a hotel review.||We asked for a room with bathroom included( because there are rooms that have only a bathroom in the hallway) and we were given one in the annex. The bedroom was spacious if sparsely furnished without a full size closet and only a bed, desk and chair||and an armchair. The lighting was minimal; one low wattage floor lamp and one bedside lamp despite there being two bedside tables. The bed was quite low to the ground. Off the bedroom were two smaller rooms; one with just the toilet and another with a sink, mirror, small shelf, fully enclosed shower and towel rack. The shower room had a small heater on the wall, the room with just the toilet had no heat. ||Despite turning the heater on in the bedroom to the highest setting AND the heater on in the shower room we were very cold our first night. We used the extra comforter on the bed-so 3 blankets and still cold.||The toilet and shower both have block glass windows with no sort of covering and the cold air streamed off of them the whole time. The second night, after the heat had been on a full day in the bedroom (not the shower room) it was much more bearable but still not the best. The area is totally quite at night and everything was spotless so for the price it was a good value. If planning a visit to Fontainebleau Palace this is only about 35 minutes by car, another plus. We would stay again but only during...

Read moreOverall we had a very pleasant evening here on a busy Saturday night. Despite being busy the service was still good, though it would have been polite to offer an aperitif before ordering our meals.|Things we liked....the décor and ambience were very pleasant, the entrees were good and the kidneys well prepared. The chocolate mousse among the best I've had.||So what let the place down....well for starters the amuse bouche was a bit ordinary - olive tapenade with small cracker biscuits , both store bought and frankly not very imaginative especially when ordering a 30 euro menu. Much of the main course was tepid at best and should have been piping hot, admittedly the delicious oven roasted potatoes were hot but everything else near cold.|The accompaniment of green beans were near cold but worse they were frozen beans and in a country with so many great markets with great fresh produce there's no excuse for serving up frozen beans. There was also a vegetable compote served with the mains that included tinned peas in it again, hard to figure out why when fresh stuff is easily available.|It's the best place to eat in town but in truth it really should only be a "Good' rating not very good but TA doesn't...
