Yellowfin — Restaurant in Punaʻauiʻa

We visited recently-table of 6 on a Friday night.

Pros-lovely ambiance and great location over the water and with views of super yachts.

Cons- Drink orders were delivered for half the table, then needed prompting for the remainder of the drinks which came over 30 mins later. Milkshake flavour was wrong unfortunately.

Bread was offered, 3 plates out of 6 put out. No bread came. Another waitress took away all plates. 45 mins after arrival, I had to ask for bread and was delivered with some apologies.

Took 90 mins for main meals to be delivered to the table.

The waitress, noting my displeasure, did offer some extra chips.

As part of my daughter’s kids meal, she had a choice of 2 scoops of ice cream. We asked for 2 flavours that were available. She only got 1 flavour correct, the other part of the dessert was cream (not requested nor were part of the kids meal).

We were subsequently charged for the cream!

This place is a gem!! It ticks all the boxes: great food, fantastic location (right on the water at the marina), and awesome atmosphere. The service is friendly and smart. We discovered it on our most recent stay in Tahiti and it was so good, we went back 2 days later. The first night we were there, there was also live music by a one-man band and he was really good! Definitely added to the already awesome atmosphere. Food-wise: my husband loved the foie gras poêlé; their Tahitian poisson cru is top notch. They also have a kids menu which we always appreciate. Last but not least, they have an extensive and delicious dessert list - the pastry chef knows what they're doing. In short, Yellowfin is possibly the best restaurant we've eaten at in French Polynesia... (at this price point anyway) And we'll definitely be back on...

We absolutely loved this place! It was a fantastic spot right on the harbor. Very nice atmosphere, open concept, modern and tastefully decorated.

The food was fantastic, very well prepared and appropriately portioned. We really enjoyed the tuna tartar and yellowfin dishes. The desserts were decadent and we thoroughly enjoyed them as well.
