Bistrot du Bac — Restaurant in Quimper

Following a wonderful meal at the Cafe du Port, we stopped here for a drink. We had also realised that it was not easy to find a taxi back to Benodet from Saint Marine.

The waiter (over man in black shirt) asked how he could help at the door. We replied and said we would like a glass of wine, and some help with a taxi number explaining that otherwise we were stuck with no transport. The man became angry “I have customers to serve and am busy, I will get you a number just sit down”. I was amazed at his temper. We had our wine, the man never came to see us and we made alternate arrangements for transport.

This angry little man was rude and a very bad advertisement for this restaurant. I will never go back and he should be in a job where customers are...

We had SUCH a lovely evening here! I was a little surprised at the low ratings, most of which seemed to focus on service. We were greeted as if we were returning regulars, happily given the table we asked for and immediately asked if we wanted drinks before dinner. Our meal was wonderful-langostinos and oysters and steak and wine. Followed by a pavlova that was exactly what a pavlova should be-light but flavorful. The setting was great -right next to the port and we were joined by others who seemed to be very familiar with this place. One of the nicest meals we’ve had this week...

Deception: Nous avions réserver une table pour deux en terrasse. Accueil sympa avons commander une bouteille de vin blanc et de l'eau pétillante. Le serveur nous a amener le tout et aussi un tout petit verre avec des crackers de type industriels a l'intérieur. C'était bizarre pour aller avec le vin a la limite du pain et du beurre pourquoi pas mais je n'ai pas compris le concept. J'ai commandé le homard avec les frites le homard était sans plus, un manque de saveur (ail et sel) et les frites étaient imbibées d'huile, immangeable. A 50 euros c'est inacceptable de lancer cela en salle, le Chef aurait du vérifié le plat avant d'envoyer. Ma femme a commandé le Bar. Ce n'était pas assaisonné non plus et très gras également. j'ai fait part de mes remarques au patron qui nous a tout de meme charger plein pot (128 Euros) et m'a rammené un mini bol de pomme de terres ecrasées a la place de frites(J'avai choisi les frites pour avoir des frites) . Je tiens a noter que les quantités sont aussi petites pour le prix mais surtout que la qualité est mediocre, j'ai le sentiment qu'ils essaient de réduire les couts d'opérations et de profiter des touristes.
