We arrived at short notice over the Easter break after problems with our planned accommodation. The hotel manager spoke excellent english and couldn't have been more helpful. He gave us a choice of several rooms, letting us view them all and choose the one we wanted. All were clean, bright and welcoming. We chose Room 112 as it was at the end of the corridor with only one room adjoining. Like most french hotels, there is no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but we had free access to the dining room to make ourselves tea and coffee. The hotel was very quiet as there didn't seem to be many staying so we had the dining room to ourselves to enjoy a pot of tea in the sunshine. The shower was over the bath with good pressure and plenty of hot water. No english channels on the TV when we stayed but the manager said that was due to a change of provider and he hoped to get a few organised soon. It didn't bother us as we went out for the evening. The location is good within walking distance of the seafront. Breakfast was buffet style with a large of choice of cereals, toasts, pastries, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurts etc. I would happily stay there again. It isn't 5 star I'd agree but I'd rather have clean and comfortable with the personal service we were given than stay somewhere where you are just a punter. Also, there was good wifi access in the bedrooms...
Read moreWe stayed here with our two young children for a short break in beautiful Benodet. We found the staff very attentive, welcoming and informative. The hotel is a short walk from the beach and amenities. The interior of the hotel is a little dated but charming and really fits the vintage 30s vibe of the town. ||One of the downsides for us was that we visited during a period of very hot weather. The rear rooms get the sun in the afternoon and this meant the room was absolutely boiling throughout the afternoon, evening and well into the night, even if we closed the shutters during the day. There was no AC in the room which we knew but a fan could have been useful. Another problem was that on the first night there was quite a lot of noise from the room next door - some loud and “interesting” sounds which would have been difficult to explain to my 3 year old daughter. I lay in bed hoping she wouldn’t wake up so I wouldn’t have to!!! Sound proofing could be improved.||However the charming breakfast next morning made up for the lack of sleep. There is also on-premises parking which is easy to access from the hotel. ||Be sure to check out the nearby “phare” (lighthouse) which is behind the hotel and bathe down on the river shore. ||We would definitely consider staying here again if we...
Read moreNice welcome and the room was comfortable and very clean but the decor is outdated. Free parking and conveniently situated 10 minute walk from Benodet centre. The shower (Rm.108) had very little water pressure, and there's no light or ventilation, fine if you like a sauna at the same time, in hindsight we should have asked for a change of room. Useful mini bar in the room and nice flat screen TV, WIFI was appreciated but signal was weak and we couldn't pick it up on the iPad. Room was cleaned while we were out which will suit some people, unfortunately we found it intrusive as some of our possessions had been rearranged. No coffee making facilities in the rooms, which we knew in advance, so we took our own kettle. ||||There is (long term) building work taking place at the rear of the Hotel so be aware of this as there is noise during the day and the current views from the balconies are of the building site. The sound insulation in the hotel is poor.||||We would stay here again as it was good value for the price we paid (59 Euro per night) but would definitely see if the shower works better in...
