Frankly I wasn't sure I should write this review, seeing all the happy and excited reviews other posted. So it's probably my fault, I picked the restaurant based on the huge Google star rating, and I booked a lunch there. Well, lunch is somehow hit or miss, only two of each courses (appetizers, main dish and desert) are available, one main being the veggie option. Don't shoot me, they are not exactly named on the web menu, so I really didn't know what to expect. In our case, the appetizers were good (one being a good interpretation of a gazpacho soup, the other a variation of crispy rice), and we thought: well, it might live to our expectations. But then the mains arrived. An over complicated pasta dish with canned tuna, cheese, more things, and way too much pepper for 3 of us. We kinda hated it. We tried to eat some partially because we were hungry and partially to be polite (don't laugh, one can do that sometimes), but with digestive costs later in the day. The second was a courgettes dish, nothing impressive tho', a 3 outta 5 I might say. Again, I would say I had a bad day and I overreact, but my opinion was shared by the other 3 parties. So, for the first time in a French restaurant, I hated the dessert. One can't ruin a panna cotta or a plain cake you might say? Well.. Let's get over with it. The atmosphere: the place is crowded (success, see, I am to blame here!), too hot, and the table where we were seated had tall and not so comfortable chairs. Some of the people there knew each other and chatted with the owners, I guess there are some regulars, which makes me feel even more guilty for a different review. Other than that, the bath was comfortable and clean. I will finish: I wrote this especially for the foreign people that might want to book a table, maybe our ways differ from local's ways, so beware and think twice. Possibly if you will book a dinner, given the opportunity to choose, you might be ok. The owners are very nice, but probably language barrier makes them less eager to explain and talk with aliens lol. I apologize to the owners, I'm sure they try to make it right, but this was...
Read moreMy best dining experience in France was at POF. The atmosphere is so cool and inviting. The staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly. But the food is out of this world!! These chefs obviously know what they're doing! From appetizer to dessert, I was in heaven, this picture doesn't do justice to the wonderful dessert I had, it had chocolate cherry filling that was to die for. If your visiting Rennes you MUST...
