First, the foods that you see in Google is not exactly what you'll receive in the restaurant.
We took the thali plates while our friends took curry dishes. Thali plates cost more expensive than the curry dish but it's way less meat in the dish.
The agneau thali (22 euro) has 3 small bowls filled with 1 piece of little meat each and the other little bowls were : salad of grated carrot, yoghurt with vegetable, semolina cake, & vegetable curry.
For meat eater & a BIG fan of Indian food:
For the quantity of meat that was served, you better off ordering non-thalis or vegetarian curry. At the end, we were full, yes, but more of rice and vegetables whilst the expectation was a good doses of meat swimming in gravy 🙁. It's better to take a normal curry + rice or vegetable thali/curry.
Their naan was homemade so we appreciate that, but honestly if you are a big fan of Indian food and craving a good homemade Indian flavor, the food here is lacking the layering of spices that Indian food is renowned for.
It was also odd that at first they say we couldn't take away food, even though uber eats were lining up in their back door.
Ventilation was not good, so after eating there, it left a bit of smell on your clothes.
We were the only one eating in but service did take a long time (it seems that the restaurant is...
Read moreWe went there yesterday afternoon for lunch. The owner/chef was not friendly at all. We did not feel a lot welcome. But the waitress was kind and so we decided to stay. We ordered a vegetarian biryani and a chicken biryani (both of them were supposed to be accompanied by a salad, 3 sauces, raita and a snack(which the waitress said was a naan). But when the food arrived, we didn't get the specified snack, the salad was high on vinaigrette. When I tried asking the chef ( who had rushed out to receive another group), he said he gave extra "salad" to compensate for the naan, only after I asked twice. The salad was not that much either. The biryani had vegetables like broccoli and romanesco which are never part of the traditional recipe. And the chicken biryani, though we specified it to be extra spicy wasn't spicy enough. We later ordered mango lassi which tasted more like normal lassi. I personally felt a bit ill treated. 10/10 would never go there again.
Read moreThe guy at this place was rude from the time he was seating us. The attitude he constantly gave us said “why are you even here?”. Very very awful behavior from the main guy at this restaurant and food was just about okay. What is more annoying was .. for some reason he seemed smiling and friendly to others. Frankly there are many other nicer places in Rennes. I don’t see any reason of coming back here and get disrespected. I would NOT...
