La Cabane — Restaurant in Saint Barthélemy

This is a great spot to grab breakfast or lunch. We stayed at the Cheval Blanc, so this was super convenient. The ocean view is so nice to enjoy while having a meal!

The breakfast buffet is very nice. They have a wide variety of options in the buffet room and you can also order a la carte items. Normally I don’t like buffet style food, but everything they served was delicious. Tons of savory and sweet items. You have to eat here at least 3-4 times before you can try everything. The food here was much better than room service, so make sure to have breakfast here rather than ordering food to the room. The wait staff was also extremely friendly and they’d basically figure out how to make whatever you want.

The lunch was also very good. Beautiful view and great place to grab a bottle of champagne and relax. It’s right next to one of the pools too, so it’s easy to finish lunch and continue your champagne toast at the pool. ;)

I came for the second year in a row and I was quite disappointed by the staff attitude this time. The place is gorgeous, lunch with your feet in the sand, one of the greatest beach on the island...but 1) portions are half what they were last year, yes half 2) proposing to a 5 yrs old kid a plate of pasta with butter and nothing else for 26 euros = a joke, no matter how much someone makes 3) restaurant staff speaking without manner, very unpolite, not a 5 stars conversation. On another note, the beach staff deserves...

Great lunch vibe, food and service. Obviously you would expect a superb experience from cheval blanc but if you can ignore the price ( assume $175- 200/per person) the experience is in fact quite elevated. Superb local grilled fish, delish salads and sides are to be expected. The wine list is of course over priced, but at least they offer decent wines by the glass. News alert : don't miss the desserts esp the ethereal lemon meringue tart ! the pastry chef should be featured for her...
