Le Sereno Al Mare Restaurant — Restaurant in Saint Barthélemy

This was our second time at Le Sereno, al Mare. The first was wonderful and we were looking forward to sharing a similar experience with our friends. We actually had the same server as our previous visit. Not only have the prices increased and portions decreased (not surprising) the wait staff was terrible. Inattentive, curt and really paid no attention to us, or our dining needs. When it came to paying the bill, we paid cash. The waiter opened the folio and proceeded to count the bills table side. We were APPALLED to say the least. We never saw the server again as he likely waited in the back for us to leave. St.Barths has a plethora of outstanding restaurants to chose from and this I assure you, is not one you want to take...

We had a nearly perfect dining experience at Le Sereno on St. Barths . The restaurant is beautiful, and the guitar player/singer made the evening truly enjoyable. The waitstaff was very attentive to our needs. Some waiters were difficult to understand, but they were all very pleasant! The food was excellent except for one undercooked entree. That was handled well, and was a minor problem in an overall wonderful experience! Try the pasta with truffles......

The food is great but the service is lacking. I'm not sure if it was just bad luck because they just reopened for the season but it was ages between dishes and about a 20 minute wait for the bill after asking several times.
