However, when we checked out the hotelier complained angrily about things he found unacceptable in our behaviour. We had chosen the cheapest of three room options. We had asked for the [excellent] soup to be heated up (it was served lukewarm). The wine we chose was corked and had to be changed. Finally, fetching something from the car shortly before breakfast we found ourselves locked out of the hotel and had not been told the code to get back in, therefore had to phone him. We were astonished at the outburst as we considered these points to be something he should be apologising for. It was the last week of the season and I think we were the only guests. Without this unanticipated Fawlty-esque twist we would have given the hotel...

Read moreThis hotel was a very pleasant surprise and turned out to be cheaper than advertised. The whole hotel was excellently maintained, very clean, charming hosts and staff. Our room was perfect, with lifts to all floors. There is a parking space outside the hotel, and next door, free public parking with a gate into the hotel.||||Dinners suited us just fine. Plain, French cooking - all delicious. Kirs are cheap!||||The pool was the warmest we have come across and allowed us to stay in longer (usually it's just a quick dip in and out!). Steps at one end. Heated by the natural mineral springs, there is a jacuzzi pool-side, also naturally heated mineral water, which will do your aches and pains good!||||We don't have any criticisms of this hotel.
