We visited L'Abri Cotier twice during our 10 day stay in Martinique. It is across the street from the Gaugin museum on the beach. A server at the Depaz Rum Distillery recommended it when we stopped by the first time we visited San Pierre and we stopped by again after visiting Plage Anse Ceron a bit to the north. The two ladies that served us were lovely and attentive. One spoke very good English. The other staff/bartender was very nice as well. The food was great during our first dinner as were the passion fruit versions of the caipirinha. They had stopped serving food (shut down the fryer) on our second stop by but served us Marlin ceviche and Avocado ceviche (not as good but OK) anyway which was super nice of them because we were starving! I had a non-alcoholic papaya fruit juice drink which they make fresh and was excellent. They also have frozen treats available like popsicles and such. I'll be honest it was difficult for us as Americans to understand the limited hours of restaurants on this island and just because they are listed as "open" does not mean you can get food! Most days we ate just one meal and relied on grocery stores for the rest because of this reality that we experienced all over the island. Realize that this restaurant is right on the beach so there is no restroom! There are port-o-lets a short walk away but they are not superb lol and you'll need your own TP! Parking on the street was easy, but it's a busy road so be careful...
