La Table de Mina — Restaurant in Sartène

We can’t recommend this place. Firstly, right after the starter was brought, we were attacked by wasps. There were dozens of them and our kids freaked out. After 10 minutes of a literal fight with insects a waiter came over and lit a bowl of stinky anti-insect repellent right next to our table that was supposed to scare the wasps away. In fact it just made our clothes and hair smell of smoke and wasps were going ahead with attacking us and eating from our plates. Apart from the smoking bowl, waiters did nothing to stop that intrusion. Secondly, food was really average. Apart from the starter, there was only disappointment for spending so much money. Also, one of the waitress rudely insisted on turning to English, although we obviously preferred speaking French. Beautiful view of the coast (unfortunately it was raining on the evening we visited so we didn't get the chance to sit on the terrace and enjoy it). As part of the hotel, the interior design is well considered. The service team were attentive and explained the dishes as presented. The food quality and high price didnt live up to the standard of the view or service.. We had the ceviche and courgettes to start and veal and grouper replacement (Porgy). Une cuisine d'exception pour un lieu exceptionnel. Le cadre est idyllique. Nous avons dîné le soir même de l'ouverture de la saison et c'est pour cela que mes notes malheureusement ne sont à leur maximum au niveau du service. Concernant l'équipe, des jeunes gens dynamiques et sympathiques, souriant s'occupaient de la salle. Le hic fut en cuisine. Bien que la cuisine proposée par les deux jeunes chefs étaient de très haut vol, le temps d'attente avant et entre chaque plat était beaucoup trop long. Prise en main de la carte, problème technique ou mécanique, gestion des cuissons, je ne sais quelles ont été les raisons mais ce sont autant de points à corriger avant l'arrivée en masse des touristes. C'est pour cette unique raison que ma note n'est pas à son paroxysme. Pour le reste c'est une parenthèse paradisiaque, l'endroit est magnifique, les cocktails sont délicieux, les plats originaux et très savoureux et la carte des vins finement étudiée. J'ai eu l'opportunité de croiser l'ensemble de la direction et je tiens particulièrement à les remercier de leur accueil, de leur savoir vivre et de leur gentillesse.
