Teapot — Restaurant in Saumur

Had a superb afternoon tea here with a group of friends. Huge selection of teas and coffees (or you can choose a lovely glass of Cremant de Loire.). The selection of delicious, delicate sandwiches, perfect homemade scones with homemade jam and cream, and then so many mouthwatering homemade cakes was, truly, amazing. We each had to take some of our gorgeous cakes home as we were too full to eat everything. All was superbly presented, the table laid so prettily. The cakes and, also delicious homemade cookies are available to buy and take home to share with "neglected husbands" at home 🤣 The couple who own the Tea Room are very friendly and create such a relaxed, happy, calm atmosphere. If you are in or near Saumur promise yourself you will try this lovely place. My only suggestion to the proprietors is to, perhaps, put some pretty flowers outside on the pavement, or maybe a tiny bright coloured table garden with plants, or an old painted bicycle with plants in a basket, as the outside of the shop is very unremarkable. We drove past twice before we realised where this delightful place was. Outside it looks bland, but inside the decor is beautiful. We shall definitely go again, and take friends...
