Donjon Uerl — Restaurant in Soissons

We are staying at the nearby eurocamp La Croix du vieux campsite and ventured into the village to support this local restaurant, and I'm so glad we did! It's so much cheaper and better quality food. The menu is small in options, but for us, it worked. Two of our kids and in the chicken nugget/sausage phase 😔 they were catered for. The other orders were beef slow cooked in beer, steak in blue sauce, and mixed grill. The portions were generous and great quality. The beef in beer sauce and steak in blue cheese sauce were particularly good. We also did the tourist thing of trying snails, or my son did. Having read the reviews we had higher expectations of what to expect. As like two out of three of the restaurants we have been to this week, there was little vegetarian choice. There was a salad choice or goats cheese on toast for 11 Euros. When asking the staff, who were very friendly, they offered to make an omelette. This is the third omelette I have had in four days due to lack of choice. My son had quiche Lorraine which looked shop bought and certainly not worth the money. Visited for evening meal and it did not disappoint. 2 adults and 3 children all enjoyed the meals. We had Beef with Wild Mushroom and cream sauce & chips.
