La Belle Vicoise — Restaurant in Soissons

BL;UF — Service, Food, Experience all 10/10, would do again and again and again.

I don’t give out 5-star reviews lightly; let me break down how La Belle Vicoise earned theirs:

First off, co-owners Larissa & Nicolas unfailingly attended to customers personally, ensuring even the most exacting desires were met.

The rest of the team — Claudio, Marie, Angeline, and Céline — were just as dedicated to ensuring every customer had a superlative experience; no detail went overlooked, no request went unanswered.

Pairing the incredible service with a knockout menu and outstanding cocktails (a rarity in France) any visitor will find they’ve stumbled on a real hidden gem just far away enough from Paris to stay off the usual tourists’ radar.

To boot, Vic-Sur-Aisne is an excellent hub from which to visit the old Great War sites and local chateaus (don’t skip Pierrefonds).

Risking sounding hagiographic, I haven’t found any restaurant, bar, or hotel remotely as welcoming, well-stocked, or perfectly-run for miles and miles around.

We liked this place so much we ate here 2 nights of our 3 night stay at the near by La Croix Du Vieux Pont Campsite. The food is excellent and very well priced, the menu is small but there is still something for everyone and the quality is outstanding. It was busy both nights and the service was a little slow, but that is fine as it was well worth the short wait. There is a great feel to the restaurant and the staff are lovely. The Children's Menu is excellent value for money and the food they are given is the same high quality as the main meals, our 11 year old was more than happy with the portion size. Lots of local options on the menu. It felt like we found a real gem of a place to eat, and we hope to return...

We visited La Belle Vicoise as a group of 12—6 adults and 6 children—and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff and owners were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They went out of their way to accommodate a member of our group with a nut allergy, which we really appreciated.

The food was fantastic—delicious, beautifully presented, and excellent value for money. Everyone in our group, including the kids, found something they loved.
