Well that was love at first bite. My husband and his coworkers tried to go here last month while in town but they didn't have a reservation, so this time we made sure we had one. We are all still struggling with French, so it was helpful that our host spoke English with us. The man who took our orders did not speak English with us but let us try out of French food vocab. We don't want to be rude and annoying Americans so we don't typically clarify whatever we try to order so we're never sure if we said the correct thing so it's always a surprise if the food comes out that we ordered or if it's what we thought it would be. But we've never been dissapointed. I ordered Cordon Bleu veau a la creme' and absolutely amazing. It had a crust around the meat which was stuffed with ham and cheese topped with a mushroom sauce/gravy. I'm still not exactly sure what type the meat or cheese was, but it was very tasty, the flavors went very well together. We joked that we could just eat the mushroom sauce alone because it was so good. We hear that French portions are small but this was very extravagant, I could not finish all of it. The Christmas beer was also very tasty. Someone brought out beer instead of wine for our friend, he didn't say anything, but our host noticed and had it switched very quickly. For dessert we ordered moelleux chocolat, which came with a scoop of ice cream and whipped creme. My husband thought the ice cream was the best in the world, I thought the little cake was the best in the world. It was light and airy, not overly too sweet, and had a little bit of crust on the outside. There is no rushing anyone out, we actually had to go find someone to give us the bill, and then again to pay it after a while. It was very good atmosphere inside, old wooden beams and walls, nice tablecloths, pillows for the bench to sit on, and evening lighting. It was a bit more expensive that I would prefer but I think it's a typical price for a nice dinner, 21€ for the Cordon Bleu. They seemed to only have a few staff, we noticed that at many places around here, but we didn't wait long for the meal, a little longer for dessert but not bad - and we had 6 people. I would definitely come here again.

Been here a couple of times, and everytime I’ve went there the food is amazing, the service in superb and the atmosphere is lovely. Been there 4 times and last visit was just I passed by the road in the neighbourhood around dinner time and I decided to go for a take-away tarte flambee, which was delicious! I would really suggest to go there for take out or eat inside, as for me it is one of the better places in the strassbourgh area!
