La Vignette — Restaurant in Strasbourg

It was a saddest experience I ever had in France. I came in there evening to have a dinner but one of the waiters told me there was no seat. I could see some empty seats without a reservation plate, but I just thought maybe I could find another restaurant. Afterwards when I was googling some other restaurants nearby, a couple seemed to wonder if they want to enter there or not in front of the entrance, and they entered. If there is no availability, the couple was supposed to be told the same as me but they seemed to be assigned a table which I saw the one as available. Whether or not just because I'm a solo traveller, not fluent french speaker, non-European appearance, I didn't feel well to see his attitude and what he has done to me. I can't judge a city with one experience but it was enough for me to decide not to extend...

Superb! We have to drive from Berlin to Strasbourg every 3 months for family commitments and discovering this place on our last trip has made the 7 hour drive worth it alone. We returned again this February and were treated to another spectacular dinner. The steak option is a must and this time we started with what i believe was a Shio Koji Cured Leek Nori Flower with black Garlic mayo. So damn good! The service is always a delight and the atmosphere classic and cosy. Definitely book ahead. Love the fact it is in a quiet and less hectic part of town. There is a great French brasserie style old boozer showing the Horse and Harness racing just down the road for a pre tipple as well...if required. We'll be back to visit La vignette in...
