Avoid it: service long and pushing towards consumption

The service started with a joke which ended up being bit too agressive and pushing to a high consumption. Afterwards as they only have 2 vegetarian dishes I was keen on taking the salad. Unfortunately no vege salad available (I was informed it will be taken out of the menu) and then the server was really pushing me to take the vege burger. Not to say the least I did not appreciate that. Ended up with a another salad with most of meat / eggs ingredients taken out. They did not suggest any substitutions for the products taken out and still charged the full price of salad. In bonus service was long the main dishes did not arrive at same time. The food is fine but there are a lot more better restaurants in Thonon. They did offer free of charge one side dish to my friend but no gesture towards direct to me. Well few clients lost, no...

Déjeuner ce midi, je tente la suggestion du jour : des filets de perche à 26,90 €. Résultat?

Une expérience culinaire… Disons.. Mémorable, mais pas dans le bon sens : des filets caoutchouteux, et d’une fadeur rare. Trois bouchées, et j’ai levé le drapeau blanc. Première fois que je renvoie une assiette en 29 ans : il fallait marquer le coup! Et j’en suis encore désolé!

Les « frites soufflées » quant à elles, font un joli effet sur Instagram, mais à l’intérieur c’est du vide sidéral. Bref, du surgelé qui fait illusion, mais qui ne remplit pas l’estomac. Pour un menu à ce prix, des FRITES FRAÎCHES ne seraient pas du luxe…

Côté service, rien à redire : le personnel est aimable et accueillant. En revanche, côté confort, c’est une autre histoire : planche des toilettes cassée, chasse d’eau cassée (voir photo) et une pièce adjacente au WC qui ressemblait plus à un débarras qu’à un espace digne d’un restaurant. Pas très glamour pour les clients.

Bref, pour un verre, pourquoi pas. Mais pour déjeuner, je passe mon tour. En tant que local, je ne me ferai pas avoir deux fois. Les touristes, eux, risquent de croire que c’est la norme… & ça, c’est dommage. Surtout quand on sait qu’il y a de bien meilleures adresses aux alentours & souvent moins chères.
