We went to this place for my our wedding anniversary together with some member of my family. This was an exceptional gastronomic experience, worthy of a Michelin star restaurant but at much more affordable prices. We had the « Menu d’Ete » and a vegetal menu, both with wine pairing (respectively 5 and 4 courses, not counting for the amuse bouche). Every course was an elegant mix of savor (the eggplant on tahini chantilly, the blueberry foie gras or the brousse were exquisite) and so were each wine. Overall, we ended up at ~100 euros/guest including first drinks and coffee. Located by the Garonne River, this is a very charming set-up, which we could not have guessed before you enter the restaurant. Everyone was exceptionally kind, helpful or knowledgeable on food and wine. We highly recommend it to anyone who could afford it or want to celebrate a special occasion, we will certainly go again ourselves if we come back...
Read moreThe atmosphere was beautiful. A lovely garden setting.
We ordered the tasting menu with accompanying wine.
I love French food and service. The food here however was the most bland and boring I have had in years anywhere in the world. Even the bread to accompany the food was cold and hard.
The meal, was bland and tasteless. The fish had no flavour and the rabbit had lots of potential but no flavour. The desert was just a bit of sponge with some flourishes of small but tasty piped cream.
The wines were small tasting portions rather than a normal glass.
The most attentive waiter was the wine waiter. The rest of the waiters did not get us more water, butter for the bread or even salt / pepper when we asked. We had to keep asking again and again.
The high ratings may be warranted but not for our table and visit this time.
France usually has such delicious food, wine and service especially for such a highly...
Read moreLunch was served in a pretty garden by the river on a sunny afternoon. It was nice to have the movable roof over the terrace to keep cool. The first dishes of gaspacho and our ceviches were lovely. The following sea bass was a bit dry in its leaf wapping but it was an attractive and colorful plating . The meat course, a hefty dish of slightly chewy pork in rich sauce ( perhaps a bit too heavy for a hot afternoon) was hardly deft cooking but it did fill you up! The best part about that course was the amazing mousse (??) of sweet potato ! Astounding creativity that really made a bland vegetable( for me anyway) jump to life! I wish I could make that at home......Tasty and pretty deserts too! Good service and interesting wines by the glass made this a pleasant al...
