DON’T!
We did our research before making a reservation and based on the good reviews made our reservation for my birthday celebrations. Bad luck. While our evening started pleasantly, it turned for the worse. We both ordered filet de Sandre, but the fish filet was far from a filet. After 20+ bones in the first half of my fish I stopped eating my fish. It was a very busy night, too busy to get the attention of staff to signal what was wrong with my plate. Else they might have been able to solve the issue. Long after my husband finished his plate (also with quite a few bones but much less than mine) we finally got the attention of a waiter and showed all the bones. It was by then too late for my appetite to order a new plate and my husband already finished eating. The waiter showed my plate to the kitchen but never came back with feedback or any gesture. We were a little bit puzzled that we didn’t hear anything back. Later that night the bill was not adjusted with a compensation for the poor quality of the fish nor were we offered anything else or even an apology. Had I had known that filet at this place isn’t filet, I would have ordered something else. When we addressed the waiter with our disappointment after paying the only feedback we got was that he did come back (which was clearly not the case) and the waiter was rather rude that we just wanted a free meal and that the restaurant was simply busy. To be honest I’ve never experienced such bad customer service. A bone or 2 in a fish filet can happen, not this, but they should have properly handled the issue, not in a rude way like this. Then again, we should have known better when they just didn’t respond to our email to make a reservation and when calling responded that they never rspond to email. Knowing all this I would have chosen another restaurant to celebrate my birthday and avoid this very disappointing experience. Simply wouldn’t ever recommend...
Read moreWe came here for dinner on our visit to Tours. Firstly, the staff were very friendly and accommodating to our young baby. I speak a little French, but the waitress was very patient with me. Of the starters, you have to try the egg, asparagus and focaccia, it was just beautiful!!! The salmon tartar was ok, but nothing amazing. The coriander seeds and fennel overpower the salmon, which lacked a bit of flavour. For the main course we both had the Octopus, which was just fantastic! I would definitely recommend this, and it was the highlight of the dinner. The octopus was very cooked well. For desert my wife got the chocolate ball (Pétanque), which was very light and hit the spot! Not too heavy, just perfect. I got the lemon curd desert, but I have to say the chef was trying too hard with this. There was far too much going on. There was a cream, then a lemon curd, more cream, a meringue on top, with white chocolate, a sorbet and meringue pieces. It’s just too much, and way too sweet. I would suggest not trying to have too many elements, and simplifying it, because the lemon curd was delicious
I have knocked a star off because the salmon was a bit bland and the lemon desert was too sweet for my liking. But overall this was a nice restaurant and...
Read moreExcellent food, service and atmosphere. Staff were kind, attentif and helpful. There was a “stagiaire” who looked after us tonight, and he was wonderful. If you read my review - thank you!
The menu was incredible, and I wish I could have ordered everything. While they do not offer a menu deal, the food is very good value for price and fair for the quality. I would come back here again and again, and recommend it highly to any curious foodies in the region. They were also very accommodating to a...
