Caffe Moretti — Restaurant in Versailles

The "gentleman" in charge of the reservation and reception is one the rudest and unqualified person I have ever had the mischance to meet in my entire life.

We went with my boyfriend during the happy hour time ( that of happy had nothing ) and while the place was almost empty the man mentioned above refused to give us a table or even offer us a sit at the bar counter.. I've then asked why we couldn't be accomodate considering that the place was basically empty and he answered to me in a very hysterical and rude way that the restaurant was fully booked until 9:15pm and that he couldn't.. I've then let him notice the obvious and repeated to him that we were not there there to eat but to drink and that the bar was empty and that I couldn't see the reason why he wouldn't accomodate us .. He quickly lost his temper and kept being rude ( which make me suggest that the person above should change job , as hospitality is not his thing and that he is not suited for it ) He then said to me that he knew how to do his job and I didn't know what I was talking about .. I've then told him that I've worked for 10 years as receptionist in various Michelin star restaurants and then so yes I knew exactly what I was talking about .. and that he obviously didn't and suggested him to change job as obviously he is not capable and lose his temper to easily to work in that field ( hospitality )

We finally left and never came back because that place is ridiculous.

Last but not least , I'm Italian and as much as they can trick french people or foreigners ( with all the due respect) to believe that that's the real deal ( the real Italian food ) I can tell you all that it is not .

The food is pretty mediocre and most of the proposed dishes are fake Italians ones.

Ça va sans dire that some of them that they affirm to be home made are not.

Like the tiramisu or worst the tiramisu spéculoos that in Italy doesn't even exists ahahahah

Also the place is over expensive for what it is.

If you really want to eat genuine Italian food go to Cilento restaurant in Versailles and forget about this joke...

As we were as tourists in the area of Plaisir, we visited various restaurants in the neighborhood. One of them is Le Cozy, a restaurant near the station of Plaisir. It sure looks fine on the outside aswell on the inside. On the menu, there are enough choices to make, also for vegetarian people like my daughter. The food is fine, presentation is also nice. But despite the fact that we tried to talk in French and sometimes need to switch to English it was difficult to communicate since the people server aren't able to talk a few sentences in English (and also didn't wanted to). And we are English either (we are Dutch). That was a pitty.

It was also a pitty to see that, and I think because we ate quite early (19:00) , they wanted the table to be free again at 20:30. And they succeeded because within 5 minutes after ordering, the next part of the ordering already was on our table.

So, the food was okay, but I cannot recommend this restaurant unless you are a (native) French speaking person. And I have enough vocabulaire for French but just not good enough for...

Just come here. If you like food that is delicious and filling; if you're from America and have been traveling for a while, and if you feel a bit slighted by unwelcoming Parisians, then come here. It's a nice resemblance of home that makes you feel comfortable.

As someone visiting from America, I did not want to come here at first. I was WRONG to think it was a regular cafe with just boring bagels.

FOOD: The food was prepared so much better than in a lot of high end places in America. We came here for dinner and had the burger and fries. The fries were crispy and they used a delicious brioche bun to hug the very juicy and tender meat. The side salad was good also.

SERVICE: Great! The waiter laughed and joked with us, and spoke in English with us after we butchered the French language trying to place our order. Very kind...
